For this Chainsaw Man Quanxi cosplay photoshoot, we specifically selected a heavy industrial area. The orange machinery and overcast clouds perfectly complemented the character's calm yet dangerous aura.
Before the shoot, I studied the character's demeanor repeatedly. What makes Quanxi so captivating is the explosive power concealed beneath her tailored suit. To bring this quality to life on camera, I dedicated significant effort to makeup and styling. The silver-white wig took a long time to refine, especially the crisp lines needed for the black highlights in the left bangs. The black lace eyepatch required precise trimming to ensure it stayed flush with the facial contours without obstructing my vision.
The outfit consisted of a tailored deep blue suit, a white shirt paired with a slightly relaxed black tie, and thick-soled black boots—looking cold and formidable while accentuating clean body lines. The challenging part of this outfit was how stifling the suit felt, especially during an outdoor shoot. To keep the suit smooth and maintain an upright silhouette, taking it off wasn't an option, leading to heavy sweating. When the reflector cast light onto my face, sweat droplets were clearly visible, requiring constant blotting with tissues.
The shooting process was tougher than expected, as we constantly climbed up and down around containers and cranes. The photographer expertly utilized wide-angle lenses and extreme low-angle shots. In P1, holding the blade required careful wrist control to keep the hilt straight while maintaining a distant, detached gaze—looking effortless on camera while my arm was aching. P2, which I selected as the cover, featured an intense pose: straddling a large mechanical structure, planting my feet firmly on the metal steps, and leaning back. This put a lot of strain on my waist and legs, but it proved to be the ultimate angle for showcasing leg lines and dynamic character tension. The gesture of pulling open the suit jacket in P3 captured an untamed, rebellious edge, where the low angle especially emphasized the jawline.
As a Female cosplayer portraying such a neutral, hardcore character, nailing that cool, steely aura was essential. The lighting across this set was complex—heavy cloud cover caused light to bounce between metallic structures and the face, requiring delicate localized adjustments in post-production. Sincere thanks to photographers Coral Palace Circle Five and Aperture Priority enger for enduring the chilly weather to wait for optimal light, scout angles, and capture these vivid moments. Climbing around in this outfit was physically draining, but seeing the final photos made it completely worthwhile, knowing that signature oppressive presence and chilling demeanor were fully conveyed.
