[Hifumi cosplay] Finally Waiting for Cooler Days in the Sea Breeze of Blue Archive

Looking back now at this set of Hifumi cosplay swimsuit works shot before the recent temperature drop, it brings a delightful sense of seasonal contrast. Cutting straight to the chase, organizing these archived photos from our Beach photoshoot on the sandy beach fits this cool weather perfectly.

When shooting this look, the weather was still scorching hot and the sunlight on the beach was intense, so we specifically chose the golden hour of sunrise. With the sun hugging the horizon, the color temperature and lighting texture were at their softest, casting very natural light-and-shadow transitions across the body—capturing a facial translucency impossible to achieve at noon during this Summer location shoot.

For the outfit, I chose this white tiered ruffled two-piece Anime-style swimsuit, whose design is actually much more intricate than it looks. The off-the-shoulder cut requires black ribbon ties to secure; any slight broad movement during shooting caused the ties to slip or twist. We had to frequently pause on set to adjust these details, aiming to keep each bow perfectly symmetrical. The skirt-shorts on the bottom also feature matching tiered ruffles, paired with identical black drawstrings that flutter airily with every step—ideal for this beach environment.

The yellow halo prop atop my head was one of the visual centerpieces of this look. Because it was relatively large and had to be anchored onto the wig, we used a custom support bracket for stability. Although it looks steady in the pictures, the sea breeze caused it to wobble slightly throughout the shoot; to maintain composure on camera, I had to keep my head lifted and chin tucked slightly to keep the halo in the proper position. The black round-frame sunglasses resting on my bangs were also a fixed accessory pairing—not meant to be worn over the eyes, but perched above the bangs, where this lensless decorative piece added a playful, cute touch.

For the wig, I selected a pale platinum blonde shade styled with airy straight bangs and a low ponytail. In the windy beach environment, slightly tousled strands actually suited the scene better than overly meticulous grooming. During the shoot, I also held a blue silk ribbon, originally intending to capture dynamic spinning shots; however, because the wind was too strong to wave it freely, I simply held it in hand. Yet the contrast between blue and white ultimately became a lovely color-clash accent in the frame.

The strappy sandals and colorful beaded anklet were wonderful bonus details that looked exquisite when revealed in seated poses. Sitting on the sand, the grainy texture of the beach formed a tactile contrast with the soft fabric of the swimsuit; by simply relaxing my shoulders and adopting a natural vacation posture, the resulting frames felt wonderfully serene.

Because this styling was so refreshing without the heavy gear required for bulky armored characters, the overall shooting process was much easier. As long as I managed my expressions to maintain a relaxed yet energetic demeanor fitting Blue Archive, the hit rate for every shot was very high. Post-processing color grading focused primarily on preserving warm ambient tones while keeping clothing highlights from blowing out, thus retaining the tiered, dimensional ruffles of the Anime-style swimsuit.

Although this Summer location shoot took some physical endurance, the atmospheric outcome was thoroughly satisfying. Looking back at these photos as the weather cools brings a nostalgic longing for late summer.
