This set of Misaki cosplay JK uniform photography was completed at a post-rain subway station platform. Choosing this scene is because the semi-open platform has a special metallic texture and glass reflections, especially the accumulated water after the rain can naturally act as a reflector, making the light and shadow layers of the entire frame richer.
In the preparation of the costume, I put a lot of thought into it. The collar and cuffs of the white shirt needed to be kept crisp, and the matching blue-and-white striped tie underwent multiple adjustments in knotting to ensure the best drape in front of the lens. The dark blue pleated skirt creates natural wrinkles between movements, which is also the soul of this uniform outfit. The matching white knee-high socks and black loafers on the feet are a classic school style. To restore the character, the metal hair accessory on top of the head and the black bows with patterns on both sides were meticulously worn and fixed. The long twin tails and double buns of the wig part took the longest time in styling, ensuring both that the hairstyle won't deform when walking and posing, and keeping the hair strands smooth.
The action design during the shooting was also carefully deliberated. The posture of standing with a mobile phone leans towards a daily feel, while the forward-leaning posture is to utilize the perspective relationship of the lens to showcase the leg lines and the extension of the pleated skirt. Leaning against the railing and hugging the brownish-red vintage leather bag tightly, this posture allows the body to form a certain curve, while the leather bag body forms a material contrast with the metal railing, giving the frame more texture. The transparent umbrella prop was temporarily added after the rain stopped, adding a bit of hazy atmosphere unique to rainy days.
During the actual shooting, the slipperiness of the ground increased the difficulty of posing, especially walking in flat loafers on tile with water stains, requiring constant attention to the center of gravity. The light on rainy days is relatively scattered, ISO was raised slightly, and white balance was fine-tuned to restore true skin tones. To prevent the White stockings from looking dim in low-light environments, the composition intentionally chose some dark backgrounds as a foil. Judging from the finished photos, the spatial depth of the platform highlighted the main subject well, and this outfit also integrated the character's temperament and daily campus elements. Every link of the entire shooting process was aimed at presenting the most natural state, which is the whole process of this cosplay record.
