[Misaki cosplay] Blue Archive: Rainy station Photoshoot Record

The location for this shoot was Wenchang Road Station. The platform floor, glistening with water after the rain, offered soft overcast lighting exceptionally suited for capturing characters with a cool, serene vibe. Speaking of Kisaki from Blue Archive, her aloof and mysterious demeanor creates a delightful gap-moe contrast when wearing this JK uniform. To recreate her look faithfully, I wore a long straight black wig styled with two top buns, complemented by signature horn accessories and butterfly hairpins. During the shoot, we deliberately chose a fisheye lens, which creates pronounced curvature along the edges of the frame. To complement this lens, I tried poses like peace signs, sitting sideways, leaning into the lens with both hands, and holding the backpack in the opening shots—ensuring well-balanced proportions despite extreme fisheye distortion, while looking delightfully playful. A fisheye lens demands strong bodily expressiveness, as one must carefully monitor positioning near frame edges to prevent facial warping.

During the shoot, the wind on the platform was quite strong; even after the rain stopped, the wig was at risk of getting blown messy, but luckily the candid captures turned out great. For props, the vintage burgundy leather backpack had rich texture and a distressed look, which, paired with the white shirt and blue-black striped tie, brought out the overall color scheme beautifully. To accentuate leg lines, I specifically selected white socks / White thigh-highs outfit to flatter the calves. When making peace signs or sitting sideways, shifting my center of gravity slightly backward helped emphasize that distinctive 2D anime head-to-body proportion.

Regarding post-processing, because the raw lighting was very soft and preserved a delicate skin tone, I preserved the vibrancy of the eye makeup as much as possible—amplifying the reddish-pink eyeshadow effect and pairing it with custom large-diameter colored contacts to make the gaze look sharper and more character-accurate. I also adjusted film-style contrast to give the entire set a richer atmospheric mood. This JK uniform is actually great for daily casual wear or comic conventions without feeling out of place. To capture ideal shots, I walked back and forth along the platform, trying dozens of angles—crouching, standing, and leaning—taking dozens of photos, and the ones here are my favorites. Shooting in the rain carries a moist, story-rich ambiance, and reflections on the wet ground served as natural props. Even though running around in puddles dirtied my socks, seeing the final photos made it completely worthwhile. Presenting every detail from composition to outfit coordination according to my own vision brought out the character's charm and gave me immense creative satisfaction. I'm also considering using the same shooting approach for different weather themes in the future—every attempt is a step in creative growth.
