Collaborating with Bingbing on this Genshin Impact Fischl cosplay and Bennett cosplay photoshoot took considerable effort during early prep. Mainly, Fischl's costume structure is remarkably complex—the fit of the lace layers, the structured flare of the skirt, and the placement of the headpieces were adjusted repeatedly. Bennett's distressed top and goggles also required meticulous weathering treatment. Choosing a Rooftop exterior location was based on the ample natural lighting, which, paired with the background of blue skies and modern glass curtain wall architecture, suited the open, expansive aesthetic of adventurers perfectly.
The wind was quite strong on the day of the shoot, making prop angles a bit challenging. In the first shot, I leaned forward holding the bird prop, requiring core balance control and a lively expression; the second shot captures us in profile gazing at each other, which required photographer Yaki to capture our eye contact with precision; the third shot presents a fuller front view where I flashed a peace sign at the camera, with the black Fishnet stockings on my legs contrasting nicely with the purple skirt hem. Bennett (Bingbing) had great personal flair when posing before the lens, and that dark brown and gold outfit displayed rich textural depth under hard lighting.
Looking back at this set, it tested not only wardrobe, hair, and makeup, but even more so our mutual chemistry. Because Fischl has chuunibyou traits while Bennett is a passionate, hot-blooded youth, I strove for elegant body language in my movements, while Bingbing used dynamic, expressive postures to complement. Photographer Yaki used a wide aperture to blur the high-rises behind us, accentuating focus on the subjects. For post-processing, Rourou fine-tuned the color palette to align with Genshin Impact lore, deepening the blue of the sky and balancing the purple and gold tones in the outfits to be more visually appealing. The entire set had no complex staged props, relying purely on character styling and chemistry to carry the frame. Huge thanks to the team for their dedication—this shoot deepened my appreciation for character roleplay details. I'll share more behind-the-scenes cuts once organized as a log of daily work.
