This outfit for the shoot was restored based on Sakiko Toyokawa's design. The focus of the overall look lies in the silver hair braided style with a bluish tint, as well as high-contrast red and black clothing.
Regarding the wig, attention had to be paid to the root direction of the side braids when wearing it to achieve a natural curve. The length and thickness of the bangs needed adjustment based on face shape—not too heavy, or it would look dull. To fit the description of "golden eyes that never extinguish," I wore golden contact lenses, highlighting the combination of Silver hair and golden eyes. For eye makeup, I gave up conventional heavy black eyeliner in favor of grayish-brown eyeshadow to deepen contours, mimicking a unique transition between 2D and 3D.
As for costume details, the inner red top has a velvet-like texture that produces different reflective effects under specific lighting. The outer black corset features prominent lacing, which needs to create a cinched visual effect while allowing room for movement. That huge black bow tie is an important feature for restoring this look; extra stiffening was needed to maintain its 3D shape. The sapphire brooch at the collar is also a finishing touch, adding a visual highlight against the red base.
Looking at the 2D illustration in Picture 2, the expression is vivid, carrying a distinctive stubbornness and tsundere feel. To recreate a similar expression in photography, besides progressive eye movement, hand gestures are needed. For instance, tugging at the edge of black lace gloves reflects the character's tension well. For this live-action shoot, I leaned toward combining the cool pressure in Picture 1 with the rigorous outfit display in Picture 3, striving to present the character's multifaceted traits.
The location was set indoors, using pink ambient light as the key light source. This warm pink light created a warm-cool contrast with the silver-blue hair, while making the deep red outfit look even richer. During the shoot, I intentionally combined my understanding of the phrase "apologize for everything" to seek a look in my eyes that was resolute yet touched with faint confusion. Fabric reflections significantly impact cosplay photos. Velvet absorbs light easily, testing lighting setup, while black bows tend to lose detail in shadows, so special attention was needed in post-processing to retain highlight areas in this Gothic cosplay.
The half-profile angle in Picture 1 highlighted the silver-blue luster of the wig and the hollow lace texture of the gloves. Adjusting shoulder height during the shoot kept the upper body from looking stiff. Picture 3 was a standard outfit showcase camera angle, perfectly exhibiting the corset and brooch placement. Many costume elements were tried this time, belonging to a vintage Gothic style design. The difficulty was moderate, with the key being styling the braids and bow folds well.
As the character's story progresses in related works, restoring her image is not just about imitating appearances, but more importantly capturing that aura combining restraint and boldness. Through the synergy of wig, attire, and expressions, I hope to present a visual experience fitting the lore of Ave Mujica and MyGO!!!!!. The most satisfying part this time was the interaction between lighting and glove texture; capturing various emotions through gazes and subtle movements made this a deeply fulfilling shoot record.
