I took two sets of convention photos for Black Sakiko, and this outfit is a custom stage costume in the KiLLKiSS theme style. The overall color scheme is dominated by red and black, paired with an ice-blue long curly wig, making the visual contrast exceptionally striking. The texture of the wig strands is very lightweight, presenting a soft metallic sheen under the convention hall's top lighting.
The highlight of the costume lies in the brown-and-black color-blocked corset design at the waist. The cinched lines provide a strong stage presence, and combined with the dark decorations on the chest, it makes the upper body clearly layered. I paired it with half-finger polka-dot mesh gloves to add a touch of gorgeousness. The lower body features a fluffy, black multi-layered skirt hem, with a layer of light-colored ruffles peeking out from underneath; these layers unfold naturally when walking.
To recreate the slightly dark and gothic gorgeous atmosphere of Ave Mujica at the shoot location, a low-illumination side backlighting was intentionally used. This cleanly outlined my facial contours while giving the hair strands a translucent effect. For the makeup, the richness of the eyeshadow and lip color was emphasized, giving the texture presented under the lens more dramatic tension. During the shoot, I strove to maintain a focused yet slightly mysterious expression, hoping to match the aura of this look.
The tailoring of the costume fits my body perfectly, and pairing it with black boots makes the overall proportions look more slender, without feeling heavy when actually walking around. This set of photos required a lot of care, from styling the wig to the final makeup look. I absolutely love the interplay of light and shadow in the photos; freezing this stage vibe in time feels incredibly meaningful. This time, from character styling to scene setup, as well as the overall polishing of light and shadow, every effort was made to present the character's inherent temperament. The venue environment was relatively simple, but by adjusting the angles of the lights, a very clean framing effect could still be achieved. Portraying this character felt extremely smooth overall, allowing me to fully experience the joy of 2D cosplay.
