Slipping into this red-and-white dress and picking up the spherical magic wand accented with blue and pink, the image of Hyacinthia from Honkai: Star Rail became vivid right at my fingertips. In this photoshoot, we focused on capturing the character's gentle yet lively Soft girl outfit charm, with the overall color scheme and props centered on a dreamy, sweet aesthetic.
Regarding the costume, the quality of this Hyacinthia cosplay outfit was exceptionally fine. The upper half features a white vintage stand-collar dress, where the prominent sky-blue bow and bell accessory on the chest serve as one of the visual focal points. The sleeves utilize a loose lantern design spliced with deep burgundy arm sleeves adorned with delicate golden embroidery patterns, creating an ornate vintage fairy-tale vibe. The collar and cuff details are remarkably rich, making the thoughtful construction of the garment clearly tangible when worn.
The lower skirt hem features multi-layered white ruffles that create a lovely flare when spread out. Pairing white tights with black bow ankle straps and chunky black platform leather shoes enhances the overall maidenly grace and adorable charm in this White tights cosplay. During shooting, I deliberately adjusted some seated and stretching poses, hoping to accentuate the extended lines of the skirt and legs, allowing the White tights cosplay element to naturally elevate the visual aesthetic of the frame.
The magic wand in hand was also an essential prop. Its main shaft is light blue, and the head consists of golden, blue, and pink petals wrapping around a smooth, translucent light-blue sphere, highly unified with the costume's color palette. Posing with the wand required careful control of arm tension—neither too tense and rigid, nor losing the balance of the staff—in order to present a natural, lively state before the camera, as if ready to cast a spell at any second.
In terms of hair and makeup, I used an orange-pink twintail wig this time, weaving light-blue ribbons into the ends to echo the eyeshadow tones and the blue-and-white pom-poms in the hair accessories. For makeup, we highlighted the crystal clarity of the eye look, accenting the inner corners with glitters to make the gaze look more spirited and bright. For the lips, a natural milk-tea shade was chosen, keeping the entire makeup clean and translucent to preserve the character's pristine, sweet, and cute 2D aesthetic.
Great care was also taken with the set design. The floor was covered with a thick white plush carpet, feeling soft and comfortable underfoot. The backdrop featured an abundance of light-toned dried flowers and pink-and-white blossoms, accented with white tulle and fairy lights in the background to create a remarkably soft, built-in soft-focus ambiance. Golden vintage picture frames and round mirrors were also arranged as side props, enriching the scene's dimensional depth and better setting off the vintage maiden aesthetic.
During the shoot, we explored several distinct emotional expressions. For instance, sitting upright aimed to convey her serene, gentle static beauty; while reaching out or lightly hopping strove to bring out the character's playful, dynamic side. Among the multi-angle finished shots, I especially love the seated and semi-seated poses—leaning slightly with legs naturally extended not only fully displays the costume details, but also perfectly showcases the visual extension of the Soft girl outfit and White tights cosplay.
Overall, although styling the wig, changing costumes, and adjusting various props took quite some time, seeing the final photos still conveys the healing power inherent to Hyacinthia in Honkai: Star Rail. The interplay of pink and blue, combined with bright and soft lighting, granted the entire photo set a delightfully sweet aesthetic. As a realistic 2D recreation of a Honkai: Star Rail character, this photo series was a truly heartfelt and dedicated effort.
