Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, making it the perfect festive moment to share this Mid-Autumn cosplay set of Jinhsi. We chose a location featuring wooden architecture and tatami mats, specially arranging abundant pink cherry blossoms and lush green moss to complement the holiday theme. The overall lighting was guided by soft side-rim illumination, bringing out a remarkably translucent quality in the garments.
Let's first dive into the costume details. The palette weaves together pink, white, blue, and red, anchored primarily by soft pink and pure white. The top features an off-the-shoulder silhouette with golden piping and blue fabric accents along the neckline and bodice, draped with generously cut white lantern sleeves. I particularly adore the waist detailing: crimson cords and blue flowing sashes crisscross tightly, trailing down into long ribbons that cascade naturally whether standing or seated to create wonderful visual depth. The skirt is an asymmetrical cropped cut, which elegantly showcases the leg contours.
For hair and makeup, the silvery-white long wig was treated with delicate pale pink and soft lilac gradients, coiled on either side into floral bud buns adorned with pink blossoms and golden hairpins. The delicate gold forehead chain and matching golden choker heightened the overall refinement. To deliver that sharp 2D visual appeal, the makeup accentuated pink contact lenses paired with vibrant crimson lips.
In terms of props, the round silk fan held in my hand was painted with pink cherry blossoms and blue butterflies, echoing the backdrop seamlessly. Beside me rested a translucent pink oil-paper umbrella that served as an interactive prop during shooting. On my feet were iridescent, pearlescent strappy high-heeled sandals whose wrap-around straps visually lengthened the legs. I also styled the look with semi-sheer White lace stockings featuring delicate floral lace patterns and an added leg garter, enriching the lower-body nuances.
While shooting this set, I explored several seated poses to highlight both the garments and the silhouette. In Photo 1, I extended my legs naturally across the wooden platform, with one hand gently gracing my jawline and the other holding the silk fan—a pose that displayed leg length while keeping the upper body relaxed. Photo 2 featured a crossed-leg pose, holding the fan poised across my chest with downcast eyes to exude a gentle, demure grace. Photo 3 shifted into a side-seated position with knees tucked in, capturing the sweeping drape of the waist ribbons while utilizing the umbrella to balance the frame's composition.
During shooting, it was essential to dodge harsh, direct light, utilizing the subtle shadows along the platform edge and the earthy tones of the moss to make the luminous colors of the outfit pop.
