This photoshoot focused on Elysia's Herrscher of Human styling.
For hair and makeup, styling this Long pink hair took nearly two hours. The roots had to be crimped with a zig-zag iron for volume, followed by large curling irons to form natural waves, and finally set with heavy styling spray to withstand the continuous blast of industrial fans on set. For the eyes, I chose soft pink contact lenses paired with winged eyeliner and elongated eyelashes, making the gaze look brighter and gentler.
The costume exhibits strong textural contrast—the white bodysuit features a matte finish, complemented by outer golden metallic armor that carries noticeable weight, demanding strict posture and core strength. The arms have separate sleeves attached to semi-sheer long ribbons that amplify visual tension when fluttering in the breeze. The most time-consuming part was styling the legs: wearing form-fitting White stockings underneath ultra-tall white boots, requiring considerable effort to zip up. The boot shafts are adorned with light purple bows and metallic buckles, rich in intricate details.
The most challenging aspect during the shoot was the floating mid-air pose. Holding the long golden staff with one hand required continuous arm exertion to keep it straight, while the other arm reached outward and my legs found the right airborne angle to maintain balance, taking a massive physical toll. The purple crystal atop the staff reflected light intensely under studio lamps, demanding constant repositioning. To capture the flowing movement of the long hair and skirt hem, multiple high-powered fans were set up; strands kept blowing across my face and blocking my vision, forcing us to redo takes repeatedly. Photographer Xu Chuyu was exceptionally strict on details, guiding me on how to tuck my chin while suspended in the air and elongate my leg lines to spotlight the White stockings and tall boots.
Although the entire shooting process was exhausting, watching the lighting, shadows, and textures gradually emerge in the viewfinder—with golden accessories gleaming against the dark backdrop and white fabrics conveying flowing motion—brought immense fulfillment. The costume's design is very well-engineered without overly restricting movement, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the character's aura. Standing in front of the lens in this outfit truly evoked a pure and resolute feeling, which was exactly the state I aimed to deliver.
