Today I am shooting the campus daily outfit of Kanna from Miss Kobayashi's Maid. The wig is light purple, with gradient purple treatment at the ends. To restore character traits, three black spherical hair accessories are tied on the side. The white horns on top of the head are made of plush material, fixed on the head with a black headband, with a black bow added in the middle of the headband. Because the wig is relatively long, it took half an hour to comb and style before the shoot to ensure the bangs wouldn't block the eyes. Blue contact lenses matched with red-toned eyeshadow and blush highlighted the character's cuteness. This light-colored wig is prone to reflection under strong light, so during shooting, I always had to pay attention to adjusting angles to avoid shadows on the bangs.

The top chosen is a light blue short-sleeved doll-collar shirt with yellow cartoon embroidery on the chest, paired with a white pleated skirt on the bottom. White over-the-knee socks are worn on the legs, matched with red-and-white Mary Jane shoes. To match the campus scene, a red hard-shell backpack was chosen, with a yellow coin purse hanging on the side. In addition, a purple plush ball was prepared, which can be hung behind the skirt as a tail to increase the character's lively feel. The overall clothing layers are quite numerous, and after putting them on, the skirt hem and shirt must be carefully ironed to prevent obvious wrinkles from affecting the texture.

The shooting scene was arranged as a corner of a classroom, with a clean white background and a standard set of desk and chairs as props. The first group of photos features a posture sitting on a chair, holding the schoolbag straps or crossing hands on the thighs. Sitting posture actually tests details quite a bit; it requires ensuring the skirt hem's shape is unfolded and nice, while also letting the edge of the over-the-knee socks naturally reveal itself. The legs cannot be completely pressed together; leaving a slight gap allows the light to hit down, making the texture of the white over-the-knee socks more transparent and delicate. Sometimes the legs are also crossed, utilizing the flesh of the thighs to slightly squeeze out the curve of absolute territory, making the visual effect more three-dimensional.

Next is the shooting of standing postures. When standing, the center of gravity should be placed on the back foot, with the front foot lightly touching the ground and shoulders naturally lowered, so that the photos won't appear stiff. The photographer emphasized during guidance that interaction is very important. For example, extending a hand toward the lens, or looking back with one's back to the lens, which not only breaks the monotonous frame but also showcases the details of the schoolbag and skirt from multiple angles. The posture of carrying the schoolbag requires paying attention to the length of the shoulder straps; too short will look cramped, and too long will stunt height visually. During the shooting process, because the wig is very long, special attention must be paid when turning around not to let the hair wrap around the schoolbag straps or horns. Every time the body rotates, one must first tidy up the long hair behind and that purple plush ball to keep the frame neat.

The matching of white over-the-knee socks and a white pleated skirt is very easy to overexpose under a pure white background, so during shooting, we made some subtractions in lighting, increasing the contrast of the shadowed parts to make the leg lines more three-dimensional. For campus style shooting, movements don't need to be too exaggerated; just maintaining a quiet and well-behaved state is enough. Blue pupils combined with red eye makeup look particularly eye-catching in the pure white frame. To shoot satisfying results, just sitting in front of the desk adjusting the action of holding the schoolbag was repeatedly shot in several groups, and different angles of front, side, and back were also tried for standing postures.

The production of a finished cosplay set requires investing a lot of energy into every link—from early clothing organization, wig trimming, and makeup design, to action guidance and light-and-shadow adjustment during the shoot, and then to post-processing color grading and retouching. Cosplaying is not just putting on clothes, but presenting the character's state; from standing posture to gaze, everything must blend into the character's setting. This shoot has successfully concluded, and I hope the final photos let everyone feel the character's cuteness.
