Considerable thought went into the color coordination of the wig and contact lenses for this shoot: ice-blue curls paired with vivid red contact lenses created an overall look that aligned closely with Remilia's lore. We encountered several minor hurdles on the day of the shoot, the most memorable being the carefully adhered vampire fangs. Talking or eating with expressive facial movements caused them to detach repeatedly, requiring multiple glue reapplications until I finally decided to speak as little as possible between takes.

For the wardrobe, I chose a pink-toned Lolita fashion dress; the lace ruffles along the fabric and the ruby brooch at the collar held exceptional texture before the lens. To complement her identity as the Vampire young lady, we prepared diverse props to shift narrative moods throughout the session. The first sequence featured a held red apple, where I aimed for a distant, ethereal gaze to echo that intricate blend of eerie mystery and playful cuteness. Mid-shoot, we swapped in a red wine glass to pair with subtly glimpsed fangs, and eventually added a dagger in hand—this contrast heavily enriched the atmospheric tension of the frames.

Because this was an indoor studio shoot, controlling light and angles was paramount. The photographer guided me to continuously adjust head tilts to catch reflections in the red pupils, giving the gaze a piercing intensity. Makeup emphasized porcelain skin clarity and soft blush blending while enlarging eye contours, striving to evoke the aesthetic of an exquisite doll. Although the costume and hairstyle were elaborate and the mob cap headpiece was massive, maintaining an elegant, composed posture before the camera was my standard for bringing this character to life.

Throughout the shoot, I contemplated Remilia's persona in Touhou Project more deeply—beneath her haughty mistress demeanor lies a childlike, mischievous spirit. Cosplaying characters with rich, defined lore is always most rewarding when props, wardrobe, and cosmetics synthesize seamlessly into frames matching everyone's shared vision. As my first attempt at this character, there is always room to polish further—hopefully next time the fang adhesive will be more secure, minimizing little mishaps and bringing the finished cosplay closer to perfection.
