[Ukinami Yuzuha Cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Ukinami Yuzuha swimsuit, summer sunshine in winter

In the first week of 2026, just after the New Year holiday, I seized the time to retouch this set of summer-themed photos. The weather recently has indeed been cold enough to make anyone reluctant to move, but looking at these photos full of sunshine and refreshing vibes brought quite a bit of warmth to my heart.

This time, I cosplayed the swimsuit version of Ukinami Yuzuha from Zenless Zone Zero (Ukinami Yuzuha Cosplay). Since I decided to do this look, I had to strive for maximum fidelity in the details of this Swimsuit cosplay. First was the hair and makeup: simply putting on and adjusting the angle of this red hair and the signature green colored contacts took quite a while. The layers of the wig needed meticulous combing to present fluffy, natural curls that aligned with the character's temperament. The color-blocked design of the swimsuit itself is very elaborate—the combination of white, pink, and black straps looks exceptionally crisp and refreshing, with matching decorative details on the chest. To fit the summer theme, I also deliberately paired it with white-and-pink color-blocked platform sandals to elevate the overall completion of the look. That small blue patch on the thigh was the finishing touch, adding a hint of playfulness to the solid-color styling.

This shoot was completed inside an elaborately constructed indoor studio set for our Studio photoshoot share. To create a rich beach vacation vibe, the venue was decorated with blue-and-white striped canopies, white wooden folding beach chairs, a massive pink inflatable swim ring, and a lifebuoy inscribed with "WELCOME". The scene was surrounded by tropical greenery and fishing nets, combined with various string lights, a table packed with drink bottles, and woven straw decorations, maxing out the atmosphere instantly. In terms of lighting, the photographer used an intertwining technique of warm and cool lights—the cool ambient light simulated seaside freshness, while the warm light cast on my body made the skin tone look very natural and healthy without any rigid pallor in Anime-style photography.

During the shoot, I communicated many pose details with photographer Liang-san. Initially, I chose more dynamic postures—holding that cyan-and-white water gun, leaning forward or standing on one leg—to convey the vitality of a summer water fight as much as possible. Later, to express the character's lazy and relaxed side, we switched to scenes near the deck chair and swim ring. The frame sitting on the chair with legs stretched out was extremely photogenic, especially crossing legs and leaning slightly forward while toying with sunglasses, which presented the leg lines and overall silhouette very smoothly. Even a yawning action was captured, looking remarkably vivid and natural, breaking the stiffness of conventional posing.

Of course, doing a swimsuit shoot in the dead of winter was indeed a significant challenge. Without real sunlight indoors and despite the air conditioning being on, the exposed skin still felt waves of chill. However, because the scene was set up with immense immersive detail and combined with props, once I entered the shooting state, I was completely absorbed in the fantasy of a summer vacation. This photo set needed to capture a cute vibe while showcasing the unique charm of swimwear; striking this delicate balance was key. When the final photos came out, the overall colors were remarkably fresh—the pink, white, and blue tones made the whole subject look clean and luminous without excessive color piling, perfectly preserving the character's authentic traits.

This photo set needs no extravagant rhetoric to describe; it was simply a very earnest shooting practice and a heartfelt character portrayal. Being able to complete a set of photos I'm deeply satisfied with at the beginning of the year marks a great start to 2026. In this genuinely cold season, I present these refreshing summer visuals to myself, and share them with all of you.
