The main goal of this photo shoot was to present a cool yet slightly playful atmosphere. The color scheme of the outfit alternates between dark blue and pure white. The shape of the grand witch hat sets the overall tone at first glance, and together with the gradient blue-and-white hair color, it looks incredibly translucent under the studio's cool light source. To match the character's traits, we intentionally intensified the blue smudging at the outer corners of the eyes for the eye makeup. The overall base makeup was also kept as clean and matte as possible to prevent excess highlights from ruining the ethereal vibe.

Before the shoot, I actually repeatedly adjusted the wearing details of this cosplay outfit. This costume has many layers, especially the diamond-shaped blue gem decorations on the chest and sleeves, as well as the irregular tulle layers under the skirt hem, which could easily look messy in front of the lens if not careful. Positioning the garter ring and the large black bowknot at the waist also took a lot of effort to ensure that it maintained a sharp and beautiful silhouette even when sitting or lying down.

The photographer's set design was very clever. The white Roman columns, the white gauze canopy at the top, the floating jellyfish-shaped luminous props, combined with the reflective material on the floor, created an illusion of flowing water and a dreamlike state under the lens's refraction. Especially in several lazy lying-down compositions, paired with the reflection effect of the floor, the skirt could spread out naturally, presenting a very tranquil state.

Speaking of selecting photos, the retouching process was actually quite painful—which is where the complaint mentioned in the post title comes from. The composition and color balance of the images were harder to handle than imagined; we had to preserve the cool blue light atmosphere without causing severe cool-color distortion to the skin tone. After finally finishing the edits and trying to post them, it got stuck due to the platform's compression mechanism, and it wouldn't upload after several attempts. It was truly a bit laugh-or-cry; perhaps this is just the mystical experience of photography post-processing.

Nevertheless, the final results are still very satisfying. In this photoset, my favorite is the pose with a sense of interaction—slightly turning sideways and raising a hand to make a "shh" gesture. It feels like it has a bit more of this character's agility and confidence compared to a purely sleeping composition. As for the standing, looking-back sideways shot, paired with the slightly classical umbrella in hand, it beautifully showcases the elegant and dignified side of the character. The texture of the entire photoset is highly consistent, which is exactly the style we envisioned before the shoot.

On the day of the shoot, there was actually only cold air in the venue (the A/C was turned up quite high), but the results were well worth it. This is exactly the kind of roleplay state I love—not relying excessively on post-processing special effects, but entirely depending on the live lighting and set design to create a sense of storytelling. Here, I also want to give a special thanks to the photographer, Tohno Sakuya, for their patient guidance; many specific light and shadow angles were only achieved after repeated trials.
