Stepping into the shoot set, the first thing that catches your eye is the calligraphy-patterned sheer fabric spread across the floor. For this Lantern Rite and Mid-Autumn Festival themed Cosplay photoshoot, everything from location selection to props was specifically tailored to a classical Chinese aesthetic. Interwoven with light, the cursive script on the fabric exudes hazy ink tones, creating visual harmony with the black, blue, and gold outfit. The dark main tone adds a poised and grand feel to the attire, while the deep blue paneling and gold accents reveal Liyue Harbor's uniquely opulent texture under the camera lens.

To capture the character's busy yet gentle demeanor during the festival, special attention was paid to wig styling. The light ash-blue long hair was given fluffy volume at the ends and paired with exquisite red-and-black horn accessories, striving to recreate Ganyu's lively yet subtly languid charm from Genshin Impact. Makeup focused on matching eyeshadow with eye color: warm red eyeshadow heightened the mood, while vibrant yellow highlights in the contacts conveyed both her sacred Qilin lineage and her approachable nature when handling daily affairs.

This costume is packed with subtle details. The subtle jacquard patterns on the neckline and the copper-coin pendant on the chest integrate Eastern elements into anime costume tailoring. Combined with the off-the-shoulder design and form-fitting cut, posture requires extra attention during the shoot. I particularly love the winding foil floral patterns along the knees and legs, which make the silhouette appear more ethereal. Paired with White tights cosplay elements—long white stockings and lace-up high heels adorned with blue bows—it enriches the overall visual layering.

The main challenge of this shoot lay in coordinating with props. In the first set of poses, lying on the calligraphy fabric while holding a calligraphy brush required balancing a natural, messy languor with harmonious camera composition. The close-up shot holding pastries aimed to recreate her familiar serving gesture from the game. Photographer @盛夏白瓷梅子汤 offered extensive guidance during filming, allowing this Cosplay photoshoot to achieve its finest expression through light and shadow.

As a Genshin Impact cosplayer, taking on a hugely popular character like Ganyu comes with considerable pressure. Beyond recreating outer appearances, bringing out the right eyes and emotions is paramount. During close-ups and half-body shots, I imagined standing on the streets of Liyue, gazing at flickering lanterns and wishing to bring peace to the Traveler beside me, creating genuine emotional resonance through this blend of Mid-Autumn and Lantern Rite.

While sorting through these photos, scenes of thousands of lantern lights kept coming to mind. Though shot in an indoor set, the warmth of Mid-Autumn and Liyue's Lantern Rite never faded. Every finalized photo was meticulously selected, hoping to fully convey the character's charm to fans of Ganyu and the game. Across different perspectives—from languid reclines to gentle close-ups—I hope everyone feels the care put into recreating this look.

The biggest test of this outfit was actually the shoes—the high heels and intricate lacing look stunning, but maintaining balance while bending over or interacting with props required constant stability. Adjusting hair and accessories repeatedly was all to present the character in her most complete state the moment the shutter pressed. This is the festive gift from Ganyu that I prepared for you all.
