The photographer's Cosplay photos arrived home before I did.

When I received the notification, I was still on my way home and was genuinely surprised—since we had just wrapped up the shoot, I assumed I'd have to wait another week or so. Yet opening the gallery revealed fully retouched final edits. This overwhelming happiness of being treated to such god-tier turnaround speed by a divine photographer is simply beyond words.

This shoot featured a fan-made Ganyu design titled "White snow and silver frost". Frankly speaking, faithfully capturing this costume posed a significant challenge. First were the uniquely shaped headpieces on top and at the sides, adorned with numerous beaded tassels and black-and-red patent-leather trimmed edges. To keep the styling crisp and upright during the shoot, turning my head required extreme care to avoid cocking the headpiece. The wig chosen this time was a refreshing ice-blue woven with subtle shimmer, reflecting specific light angles to reveal a matte, frosty snow texture that perfectly matched the "White snow and silver frost" theme.

The costume details were also deeply satisfying. The upper bodice utilized a bold black-and-red color blocking, combined with backless and wide drop-shoulder tailoring that retained classical Chinese grace while adding a dash of anime-inspired strength. The blue-and-white patterns across the waist and cuffs, accented by metal-trimmed woven ribbons, delivered rich visual layering. Paired with a white scroll prop held in hand, the entire image resembled a living piece of Ancient style photography.

Throughout the shooting process, the photographer and I repeatedly adjusted light angles to recreate the character's aloof yet gentle charm. We opted for an indoor studio setup integrated with traditional scenery; for instance, in the second wide shot, background elements like plum blossom branches, semi-sheer white drapery inscribed with running-script calligraphy, and an open oil-paper umbrella interwoven seamlessly to create a hazy, dreamlike aura. The highlight was a high-angle overhead shot where the photographer used a wide aperture to blur the red plum foreground and umbrella edges, focusing viewer attention naturally on character gestures and garments in this Ancient style photography piece, driving atmospheric depth to its peak.

Working with a highly efficient team partner always sparks immense creative magic. Because physical posture was somewhat constrained during the shoot—owing to a low neckline that required keeping shoulders open—my arms grew sore after continuous shooting. Fortunately, the photographer paced the rhythm expertly, constantly offering encouragement and posing guidance. The resulting photos feel entirely free of stiffness, instead revealing a natural, relaxed, and casual beauty.

Compared to grand narratives, what resonated with me most in these photos were those quiet moments. Free from overly dramatic poses, there was only a downcast gaze, alongside the effortless beauty of trailing sleeves and flowing hair strands. I've cosplayed many anime characters before, but every time I slip into a specific character's attire, it feels like transcending everyday boundaries to experience a wondrous journey in a parallel universe.

These two preview photos released today have perfectly met my expectations. The remaining main photo set conceals even more details—from fabric textures to the warm, gentle luster brought by ambient lighting—that are well worth looking forward to. Today's surprise alone is enough to keep me thrilled for a long while. Truly exceptional work relies on dependable hair, makeup, photography, and logistics support; encountering such a synchronized and lightning-fast team is truly my good fortune.
