[Ganyu Cosplay] Waterside Chimelong Swimwear Shoot Sharing

This session features a Swimsuit cosplay of Ganyu with an outfit entirely coordinated by myself, shot by photographer Xiao Wai. Because Ganyu in Genshin Impact commands the Cryo element, I deliberately selected light blue long hair paired with crimson horns, aiming to evoke a crisp, icy visual contrast against the sparkling blue pools of Chimelong.

First, focusing on the hair and makeup: to harmonize with the aquatic ambiance, I accentuated the eye makeup with pink eyeshadow and extended eyeliner, paired with long lashes to give my gaze a glistening, dewy quality. The blush was dusted slightly higher on the cheekbones so that reflections off the water would enhance a healthy, radiant flush. The red horns serve as the visual anchor of the styling; I had previously considered black horns, but felt that at a water park in midsummer, vibrant red accents brighten the overall palette, generating an intense 2D pop when paired with blue locks.

For the setting, we chose Chimelong Water Park, where the water quality and surrounding attractions provide an ideal outdoor backdrop. The photographer shot with a wide aperture, melting the blue water slides, lush trees, and resort buildings into a pristine, creamy bokeh that locks the visual focus squarely onto the subject. Sparkling surface ripples and dancing sun glints added wonderful textural depth to the frame.

The wardrobe consists of a white short-sleeve V-neck top paired with white swim bottoms. Once submerged, the top turns semi-sheer, which puts fabric quality and cut to the ultimate test. The tie-front lace-up neckline allows easy fit adjustments and lends itself naturally to poses leaning along the pool ledge. The way the fabric drifts organically with the underwater currents flatters body contours without feeling forced. To echo the cooling theme, my nails were manicured in pale blue and white.

During shooting, we experimented with varied poses to convey distinct moods. In the first shot, resting along the poolside with my chin propped in my hand leveraged the pool edge as an organic foreground, meeting the lens with confident directness. The second shot caught an over-the-shoulder glance while standing in the water, cleanly showcasing back and waist contours while water reflections under backlighting made skin tones appear porcelain-pure. The third opted for a natural front-facing stance, with one hand gently brushing hair back and the other resting easy. The photographer guided my arm and torso angles to eliminate unflattering underwater shadows, keeping the composition pristine.

Shooting in water naturally invites unpredictable challenges—currents shift fabric placement, and humidity can disrupt lashes and base makeup. We frequently paused to reset the wig and dress drape. White fabric grows noticeably heavier once soaked, which became tiring over extended takes, but dialing in authentic character resonance made every tweak worthwhile. Coordinated from scratch, this Chimelong swimwear set struck a lovely balance between iconic lore traits and chic real-world swimwear—a faithful homage and a rewarding creative adventure.
