[Dori cosplay] Genshin Impact Mora Tycoon Arrives: Clever Combination of Gold Coins and Rings

For a character like Dori, Mora is her absolute lifeline, and for this outfit, every detail from props to costume was designed to lean into this trait. First and foremost, the visual centerpiece of this outfit is the gold-rimmed neck armor and blue star decoration, which are the most eye-catching parts of the upper body. They outline the character's silhouette beautifully while creating a strong color contrast with the waist-baring black top. To keep the purple bow and white shoulder straps flat without wrinkling on the shoulders, snap fasteners were chosen for securing them. The white gauze material for the sleeves was selected from a fabric with a subtle sheen, which presents better depth under the convention's overhead lighting without looking flat in these convention photos.

The prop aspect was the absolute top priority of this preparation. The large gold ring held in hand and the Mora gold coin pinched between the fingertips of the other hand needed to maintain a metallic texture without looking cheap or plastic. These two props achieved their current reflective finish only after repeated spray painting and surface treatments. Holding the ring aloft also required ensuring that the blue-and-gold decorative beads inside wouldn't detach easily, placing strict demands on bonding techniques and camera angles during the shoot. As for makeup and hair, the pink wig was one of the souls of this look. Beyond styling the fluffy hair strands with highlighted direction true to the original character, the hat composed of blue-purple fabric and silver ornaments at the crown had to be securely anchored amidst the hair. The small red round glasses were the finishing touch of the makeup, adding a touch of cunning and mysterious flair to the character. To match this shrewd vibe, warm-toned eyeshadow was used to deepen eye contours, paired with yellow contact lenses to instantly bring the face to life.

During the on-site shoot, due to the high contrast lighting at the venue, we had to ensure facial clarity while preventing golden metal parts from overexposing. The photographer referenced official key art lighting strategies and ultimately used a key-and-fill dual light setup, which catered well to both skin texture and prop highlights. The poses in the photos where I pinch the coin and support the ring were actually finalized after repeated brainstorming. These two hand gestures needed to convey a confident, ease-of-control state over wealth, so I specifically practiced hand muscle control before the shoot.

Another key focus of the outfit styling is the geometric elements echoing between the waist and chest. The golden folded lines on the bow tie, the white back straps, and the golden V-shaped lines in front of the waist all maintain a unified design language. While adjusting the clothing, I paid special attention to aligning these lines with my shoulders to prevent the bow tie from shifting when turning. This waist-baring costume design demands high standards for angles and posture during photography, requiring constant core engagement to stay toned. Turning sideways, raising a hand—each movement coordination is not just to showcase the clothing, but to faithfully recreate the character's lively expression of smugness and constant calculation. Every single shot during the shoot underwent fine adjustments to eye contact and hand gestures, ultimately presenting the image of a Mora tycoon that balances a merchant's calculating nature with a cute, vibrant energy. This is a memorable moment in a cosplayer daily life.
