This photoshoot featuring Honoka Kosaka cosplay in her Little Devil Awakened theme was conceptualized around the playful mischievousness of Halloween. To faithfully recreate Honoka's characteristic genki energy blended with a teasing Little Devil edge from Love Live!, I devoted considerable effort to hair, makeup, and posing. The costume is rich in detail: a sleeveless black top spliced with a red floral flared skirt, accented at the neckline with an eye-catching pink-and-black polka dot bow that creates striking visual layering on camera. To bring the character to life, I paired bright blue contact lenses with bold eye makeup, accompanied by an orange side ponytail with blunt bangs to evoke that authentic 2D anime feel. The headdress features mesh-accented devil horns and a floral headband, while glossy pink miniature wings and a heart-tipped tail in back serve as perfect finishing touches. The crimson trident prop held in hand was massive—shooting required not only expansive, graceful poses, but also constant awareness of the prop's center of gravity and balance. Meanwhile, the black Leg garter and crisscrossed pink-and-black straps on the legs stood out as key highlights of this styling. I experimented with various stances, such as lifting one leg or standing in side profile, to best showcase the skirt's flair and leg lines. This ensemble balances sweet whimsy with an edgy coolness, harmonizing seamlessly with the Trick or treat theme. The studio lighting leaned toward a high-key setup, where the pink backdrop and gilded flower stands added rich dimension, and the final results left me thrilled—I truly hope these photos convey the character's vibrant vitality.
In managing costume details, the skirt's red floral print and metallic gold trimming were quite demanding under studio lights. To keep the floral patterns from looking cluttered, I specifically asked the photographer to test several different shooting angles. The waist-hung floral ornaments and pearl chains created dynamic motion during movement; to capture that depth in still photos, I spent significant time adjusting their exact placement. The gloves feature a long pink operatic design complemented by black wrist cuffs, visually elongating the arm lines. Because the trident was nearly as tall as I am, holding it steady one-handed while projecting poised strength demanded serious core engagement. After a few takes, I discovered the knack for balancing the prop's weight, and my movements became much more natural.
Expression and demeanor management was, in my opinion, the core of portraying the Little Devil Awakened persona. It couldn't just be cute and sweet—close-up shots needed a touch of sly mischief and teasing defiance in the gaze. Facing the lens, I imagined myself as a wicked little witch plotting Halloween pranks; this mental conditioning did wonders for channeling the right emotion. When taking full-body photos, ensuring the leg ribbons and Leg garter looked seamless rather than jarring within the overall look was an ongoing point of fine-tuning. Paired with pink high heels, a side-profile leg-lift composition beautifully emphasized leg extension. Although the process was tiring—demanding a perpetual balancing act between props, wardrobe, and facial expressions—reviewing the camera playback made every bit of effort worth it.
