I finally found time to sort through these photos of Oguri Cap from Umamusume: Pretty Derby wearing a Love Live! idol stage outfit. The lighting contrast at the shooting venue was extreme, and capturing these great shots was entirely thanks to the quick reflexes of photographer Pulao 411.

The exhibition hall was packed with crowds, and we finally found a spot with a clean background. Since the main highlights of this outfit were the red sequin skirt and black stockings, the photographer decided to lower the ambient background light and use direct flash to make the main subject pop out. This perfectly aligned with the "three elements of portrait photography" mentioned earlier.

The first photo captured the exact moment of jumping. I actually practiced this movement many times because keeping the legs straightened mid-jump was necessary to fully display the texture of the Black stockings, and my body needed to stay directly in the center to preserve the composition. Dynamic action shots truly test capture timing, and Pulao did an amazing job.

The subsequent photos were static poses; the way the white shirt and sequin skirt reflected the flash was incredible. The matching red fingerless gloves and sapphire bow tie looked gorgeous but were quite troublesome to wear, especially the yellow diamond hair accessory on the wig, which was difficult to secure and required numerous bobby pins. For a crossover shoot, this styling was really fun—silver hair paired with blue contact lenses created a charming cross-series contrast, leaning more toward exaggerated 2D flair than everyday wear.

The best part of TFCD photo shoots at anime conventions is this unpredictable chemistry; once you put on the costume and customized styling, you naturally slip into character. Walking around the convention hall all day in black stockings and chunky platform boots left my feet sore, but capturing satisfying moments made it all worthwhile. Choosing to jump in the first photo was a deliberate choice to maximize lower body lines while using body posture to convey the lively energy of the upper body. The photographer's lighting control matched the distinct crisp, punchy texture of Convention photos, with high contrast cleanly eliminating distracting background crowds. The texture is maxed out across every pixel, reflecting a dedicated, professional attitude toward portraying the character.
