[Honoka Kosaka cosplay] Love Live! µ's energetic daily life

For this Honoka Kosaka cosplay, my main goal was to capture that vibrant energy and drive unique to Love Live! µ's through the lens.

For the costume, I chose the classic combination of a light pink short-sleeved T-shirt and a white multi-layered ruffled mini skirt. To match the color saturation of 2D anime, I hand-sewed a bright pink bow onto the chest of the T-shirt, layered bright pink tight cycling shorts underneath, and wore a pair of white chunky platform sneakers. Trimming and styling the wig took quite a bit of time; to recreate Honoka Kosaka's hairstyle, I tied a side ponytail on the upper left with a pink hair scrunchie, layering the bangs to ensure the overall hair looked fluffy and dynamic. For makeup, I emphasized a fresh, translucent base and bright blue contact lenses paired with pink blush, striving to bring a visual aesthetic as close to the anime as possible into the 3D world.

For this energetic girl studio photoshoot, school desks and chairs were prepared as set props, along with a sheet of white paper as an interactive prop. The first set of poses featured both hands clenched into fists raised in front of the chest—Honoka Kosaka's iconic cheer pose. Later, I sat at the school desk, folded the white paper into a hat to balance on my head, and rested my chin in both hands while looking into the camera. During the shoot, I communicated with the photographer to avoid overly contrived poses and instead capture a natural, relaxed demeanor that felt ready to burst with enthusiasm at any moment. Cosplay is never just about putting on the costume and wig; it is about channeling the character's mindset. What makes Honoka Kosaka so moving is that no matter what difficulties arise, she always stands tall with her head high and faces everything with the brightest smile.

The studio lighting was kept straightforward, relying on a clean and bright solid-color background to better accentuate the facial expressions and the costume's color palette. While adjusting seated poses, I paid attention to leg lines and the drape of the skirt to make the shots look natural and open. The entire process was so joyful. I hope this photo set delivers positive, uplifting energy—just as I've always believed: become who you want to be, and be truly yourself.
