[Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay] The Apple Pie Clerk in Arknights

Over the weekend, I did a shoot for Arknights' Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay, and here is the feature photoset. Regarding the outfit, there are actually numerous intricate details in this costume. The main body in black and white, accented with vibrant red highlights and combined with metallic buckles and straps, creates rich visual layering. The design of the White tights cosplay over-the-knee socks and leg garters visually elongates leg proportions, which is precisely why I paired them with black platform shoes featuring red trim. After putting it on, the first thing to adjust was the leg straps: if cinched too tight, they make the legs look thick and restrict movement, but if too loose, they slide down, so fine-tuning the tightness took considerable time. To prevent tearing the white over-the-knee socks, I even trimmed my nails short before putting them on. The skirt features an asymmetrical cut that easily risks wardrobe malfunctions, so during the shoot, watching the angles or applying safety tape was necessary. Next, about that floating halo overhead: to keep it stable, I concealed iron wire inside the wig and anchored it with clips; tilting my head slightly was fine, but larger movements would make it wobble. Fortunately, it held up well during shooting. The wig is red with a nice texture, though a bit long, so I trimmed the wispy layers on top slightly to match the character's traits better. For this shoot, we selected a pure white backdrop room because the costume's colors are already very vivid—a cleaner background better accentuates the outfit's silhouette and the sharp contrast of red, black, and white. As for posing, I chose to lean sideways against the wall, slightly bending and crossing one leg in front, which effectively showcased the details of the socks and shoes while keeping my center of gravity on the back leg so it wouldn't look stiff. I adjusted my angles many times during shooting, pacing back and forth repeatedly to find that sweet spot balancing thigh lines and prop positioning. Because the shoes were platform soles, walking was somewhat heavy and tiring on the ankles, but it also made the calf lines look tighter, proving to be a double-edged sword. Post-processing focused primarily on crisp, clean color tones. Floor reflections needed to be darkened slightly to ensure the shadows around the ankles looked natural. During the shoot, the photographer used a ring light for fill light, making the character's silhouette much sharper. To give the skin a natural sheen, I applied body highlighter to my legs, while also retouching away red marks left by the straps during post-editing, preserving authentic skin texture. Since I shot this set, I didn't want to lose the bold high-contrast feel of black, white, and red; the key was maintaining a crisp, luminous vibrancy. Compared to previous Anime cosplay works, shooting this set tested patience due to the abundance of props and accessories, requiring meticulous adjustments to ensure the final output quality.
