[Columbina Cosplay] Genshin Impact Song of the Empty Moon: World Line Anime Convention Day 3 Floor Log

On Day 3 of the World Line Anime Convention, I arrived at the venue in full Genshin Impact Columbina Cosplay with the Song of the Empty Moon ensemble.

To avoid peak indoor crowds, I entered early in the morning while photographer @卋一 had already scouted locations inside. This shot was taken in the hallway near Gate 16. Capturing the moment between waves of attendees created a subtle bokeh blur of passing figures in the background, adding an authentic, documentary-style convention feel.

Let's start with the preparation for this shoot. The Song of the Empty Moon outfit boasts rich layering, featuring translucent white mesh layered over a light blue base, centered around a prominent white chest bow with gold star accents that draws the eye. The white feather-wing headpiece serves as the crowning touch; to maintain 3D volume, it features internal structural reinforcement and must be anchored at a precise angle to avoid flattening the hairstyle. Wig styling was another core focus: I paired a black base with magenta dip-dyed ends, using a curling iron for secondary heat-shaping to give the magenta tips a natural wave. The makeup stayed soft and ethereal, utilizing a clear, breathable base and light blue-purple contact lenses to align with her mystical aura.

The white orb prop cradled in my hands was a central focus for these Convention photos. During location shoots, glossy spheres reflect light easily; since hall overhead lights were quite diffused, we deliberately framed with a side-backlight angle, allowing shadows to settle across the orb's lower half for a more tactile, realistic volume. Holding the sphere balanced with both hands required unexpected stability, and the photographer suggested angling slightly to the left to anchor the visual center of gravity, prompting several test takes for this frame.

The translucent white gauze sleeves were the most light-sensitive element of the outfit. While direct outdoor sunlight risks blown-out highlights, the cool ambient lighting inside the hall imparted a soft, icy-blue hue to the sheer fabric. To capture this exact tone on camera, the photographer calibrated the color temperature in-camera to minimize heavy post-processing color grading, preserving raw texture. The long white ribbons wrapped around my wrists and arms added intricate detail, though their length required constant vigilance in dense crowds to avoid snagging backpacks or dropping props. Thankfully, we wrapped this camera angle quickly after a few solid snaps.

The atmosphere on Day 3 of the World Line Anime Convention was fantastic. Passing by several exhibition booths in costume, I ran into fellow fans who recognized the character and praised the detail accuracy. I'm especially thrilled with the lighting in this capture—a stray beam of natural light from a high hall window struck the feather headpiece from above, bestowing a translucent radiance to the white feathers. Reflecting on the floor experience, despite multiple layers of mesh and accessories, the outfit remained surprisingly comfortable to walk in, made easier by the venue's ample air conditioning.
