Today at the CICF Expo site, I wore this Genshin Impact Vodyanitsa costume for a convention photo check-in. The outdoor sunlight was quite intense, but the crowd traffic and enthusiasm at the site were completely unaffected by the weather. I've prepared this outfit for some time, making quite a few adjustments from the wig styling to the costume details. The wig is light blue with a slight gradient texture; to secure the flower hair ornaments on top, I spent quite a bit of time backstage. In terms of makeup, the focus was on eyeshadow and blush, creating a slightly rosy complexion, which, paired with blue contact lenses, brought out the overall atmosphere. The costume is a white-based off-the-shoulder design with loose puff sleeves; although pretty, wearing it actually requires constant attention to maintaining its crispness to prevent the tulle fabric from wrinkling.
During the shooting process, quite a few people gathered around. The photographers were very professional, guiding me to strike various poses. At first, it was gently stroking the cheek with one hand, then trying poses like spreading arms or lightly tapping the chin with a finger. To showcase the lightness of the costume, I would also spin around while holding the skirt hem. Because the skirt has a split design, to take good-looking photos, I was also adjusting my leg poses to make the lines look as smooth as possible. Each shoot was quite tiring, requiring frequent posture changes while paying attention to facial expressions. Standing for a long time made my feet a bit sore, fortunately the photographers communicated at any time, telling me which angles needed adjustment. For instance, when a breeze blew, they would have me hold the pose, capturing shots using the fluttering feel of the skirt hem. The large aperture blurring out the dense crowd in the background really improved the layering of the frame a lot.
There were many people at the anime convention site, with various long lenses pointing at us. Although there was pressure, I quite enjoyed the feeling of being focused by the lens. During a break in the middle, passersby came over to ask what character this was, and I briefly introduced it; everyone was quite curious about such gorgeous clothing. The metal accessories on the costume had a nice texture under the sunlight, and the blue card at the waist served as this convention's pass. As the afternoon light softened, this set of convention photos successfully wrapped up. I'm getting ready to go change clothes; today's shooting intensity was quite heavy, and next I plan to stroll around the exhibition area to see if there are any other interesting works. Today, this makeup and styling allowed me to meet many fellow fans who liked the same things at the convention, and we exchanged some insights on costume making and prop maintenance, feeling like I gained a lot. Next, I'm getting ready to replenish some hydration, and then go check out the dynamics of other booths.
