The shooting plan for this convention photo directly set a high-difficulty illusion style, with the core emotional point being the line "The unfaithful shall be executed." To present a picture that transcends conventional gravity and is full of battle tension, we put a lot of effort into action design and post-production compositing.
In terms of clothing, to restore Gongsun Li's lightness, I selected white fabric with a natural draping feel, paired with a red inner lining and jade beads. Although these accessories provide a visual bonus when swaying, they also increase the difficulty of action control. The handheld umbrella-like weapon seems lightweight, but when maintaining a swinging posture for a long time, the burden on the wrists and waist/abdomen is actually quite significant. During the shooting, to simulate the weightless feeling of leaping into the air in the frame, I had to repeatedly adjust my core strength on the wire, especially for that leg bent forward—the entire muscle was tense, because only real muscle exertion can make the ribbons and skirt hem present the most natural extension arc.
The character's gaze and expression are also the key to the success or failure of this convention photo. It cannot just be cold; it must also carry the character's unique sharpness and resolution. I stared intently at the lens the whole time, trying to fully release the aura of "The unfaithful shall be executed." The special effects of the surrounding white cranes and mysterious entities were meticulously composited by the post-production teacher to match the picture's atmosphere. Ink-wash textured smoke combined with a vertical neon tube background featuring a cyberpunk style—this intertwined environment of traditional style and science fiction greatly magnified the character's inherent cool temperament.
In terms of overall color grading, we deliberately emphasized high contrast. A large area of white clothing clashed with the deep black tone of the background, dotted with cyan-blue energy flow special effects, making the visuals look very full. The falling leaves and flying white cranes in the frame actually went through dozens of layer adjustments to achieve the current density effect. To make the glowing effect at the top of the weapon look more natural, I also matched specific lighting angles during on-site shooting to ensure it wouldn't look disjointed after adding light effects in post-production.
Overall, this cosplay creation experience is not only a test of body language, but also a deep refinement of artistic aesthetics and team cooperation. From set design and action decomposition to the final presentation of visual effects, every link requires extremely high coordination. Being able to interpret Gongsun Li in my own understanding in this way and materialize the character's ethereal yet lethal aesthetic is a very satisfying creative experience.
