[Astesia cosplay] The Starlight of Arknights Shines on the Stage

The core of this photo set was to recreate the starlight effect on stage, so a considerable amount of time was spent on set building and lighting design beforehand. We arranged crystal chandeliers, blue diamond-shaped reflective pillars, angel statues, alongside a golden birdcage and white tulle, all to accentuate an ethereal and aloof elegance. The blue gradient wig was styled repeatedly to add fluffiness, and the delicate metal halo and feather headpiece completed the look perfectly. We used a fog machine during the shoot, combining overhead and backlighting to create striking beams and halos, making the atmosphere incredibly immersive.

During the shoot, the most meticulous part was coordinating the skirt hem and White stockings. The dress is massive, featuring an outer layer of sheer tulle over a black puffy inner skirt. To flatter the leg lines after putting on white high heels and pantyhose, I had to constantly adjust my poses. Sitting sideways and standing throughout the shoot severely tested my core strength. Especially when a large fan blew up the skirt to capture the moment my hair fluttered in the air, I had to keep my eyes sharply focused while ensuring my facial expressions didn't slip. Every time the wind blew, I had to adjust my body angle against the breeze, coordinating my hands to hold the golden bird prop or microphone to give the poses a dynamic flow. Capturing these moments was no easy task for the photographer; after each set of shots, I had to touch up my makeup and fix the wig.

Because the ambient light was very dim, focusing and metering for this Stage photography setup required immense precision. Close-ups focused on the gaze, while full-body shots emphasized the lines of the legs and skirt hem. I experimented with numerous poses, such as crossing my legs while seated to stretch the lines, and turning slightly sideways while standing to give the skirt a graceful curve. Although these movements were exhausting, seeing the striking White stockings and elongated leg effects in the final edits made it all completely worthwhile.

Walking back and forth to calibrate camera angles and pacing around the venue in high heels and a long dress all day drained my stamina; I immediately collapsed onto the floor once we wrapped up. When selecting and editing photos, fine-tuning of light and color was done based on the foundational blue tones, ensuring the original texture of the stage lighting wasn't ruined, maintaining the cool-toned mystery of the images. Although this cosplay shoot was challenging, the overall Stage photography effects and costume textures exceeded my expectations, making it an incredibly rewarding experience.
