This "Clouds Vow to a Thousand Mountains" set took nearly a month of preparation from the initial makeup test to the actual shoot. The wig was crafted with a three-layer braided structure to recreate that iconic double hair bun, and the color palette of the forehead ornaments and the metal accessories at the waist were all meticulously adjusted by hand. This time, I specially chose clear cyan-green and light blue for the ambient lighting, paired with water ripples on the ground and an ink-wash screen in the background, aiming to fully maximize the artistic conception of "a single thought of summer rain falling upon a thousand mountains." The sheer material of the costume creates a beautiful fluid texture under the lights; during the shoot, I kept a close eye on the posture of my arms and the skirt hem, trying my best to maintain a lightweight and flowing state. Ah Li's agility (Gongsun Li cosplay) is actually hidden within the subtle angles of her gaze and fingertips, so we tried several versions of standing and sitting postures, and finally selected these few shots that felt most right. Although the swimming fish and water splash special effects were added in post-production, I simulated the corresponding hand movements during the shoot to match them. The overall style leans toward a Chinese-style cosplay dreamscape, and I personally really love this cool, detached, yet ethereal vibe. I hope this set of photos allows everyone to see a different style of Gongsun Li. Although the cosplay process is hard work, every time the makeup is set and I see the character in the mirror appear in reality, it becomes completely worth it.
