[Xishi cosplay] Honor of Kings Xi Shi ID Photo Shoot Sharing - Image 2

Sharing this Honor of Kings Xi Shi cosplay photoshoot ID photo work. This time, I chose the uniform version of Xishi as the main image, featuring a light blue suit jacket paired with a pure white shirt. The collar is adorned with gold-trimmed diamond design details, and tied with a dark blue tie, making the overall look possess both a cool collegiate vibe and the character's own playful agility.

In terms of hair and makeup, black hair with straight bangs paired with shattered hair on both sides to frame the face. To match the original work, I specially prepared a blue-and-white plaid hairband, accented with small white flower hair accessories on the side, along with silver metal dangle earrings. The use of these small props greatly enhanced the completion of the styling. For the eye makeup, I deliberately deepened the red eyeshadow blending and upturned eyeliner, and added a small teardrop mole below the left eye, hoping to recreate the character's gentle yet slightly mysterious gaze. The lip makeup was a watery red tone, paired with a fair base makeup to make the overall complexion look more vivid.

For this shoot, I also prepared an illustration style as a contrast like in Figure 2. Figure 1 is the realistic photo effect, and Figure 2 is the 2D anime-style version after hand-drawn graphic processing. As you can see, the expressiveness of the same set of costumes, hair, and makeup is completely different under different visual styles. The realistic texture fits the real-world light, shadow, and fabric textures better, while the 2D style highlights the character's sweetness. During the shoot, I specially used softbox lighting to weaken the shadow contrast, giving the frame a dreamy blue-purple tone. The twinkling cross-star flares in the background, paired with the semi-transparent letter layout, also fit the character's full-of-aura setting.

Actually, in the process of preparing this cosplay, the most thought-consuming part was adjusting the clothing pattern and accessory positions. Xishi's outfit looks simple, but the length and tying method of the hairband, the tightness of the tie, and the shoulder width of the suit jacket all require repeated fittings to achieve the best visual balance. There is also that white shirt; although hidden under the tie, the shape of the collar tips and the button positions at the neckline affect the refinement of the overall look. This time, I also did some minor processing on the side of the hair, sewing the plaid fabric strips onto the headband to ensure it wouldn't slide or misalign during shooting.

After the final photo in Figure 1 came out, I felt I captured the expressions in my eyes fairly well, which has both the character's sense of composure and a bit of my own understanding. The illustration style in Figure 2 was drawn with the help of an artist friend, which serves as an artistic extension of my own styling. The contrast between the two has also become an interesting highlight of this ID photo work. I hope that through the polishing of these details, I can present a different image of Xishi to everyone.
