My schedule for studio shoots in June was quite packed, but I specifically made time this time to complete the shoot for this Gongsun Li look. The combination of blue-toned tulle and fluffy rabbit ear elements indeed looks much more refreshing under the hot summer temperatures. To stay closer to the character's setting, the wig was specially chosen in a light ice-blue gradient. Under the main light of the studio, the hair strands present a semi-transparent texture. The layers at the crown and the back of the head were handled very meticulously to prevent the top from flattening.
In terms of accessories, the main difficulty tackled this time was the white lace choker around the neck and that metal heart-shaped pendant. Since the neckline of the outfit is quite wide, if the choker is tied too tightly, it easily leaves red marks on the skin, but if it's too loose, it will constantly shift during movements. In the end, after adjusting the angle back and forth several times with the photographer, the metal pendant rested securely right below the collarbone, perfectly brightening the visual center of the entire outfit.
The blue artificial roses on top of my head and the bow headband belong to a monochromatic color scheme. The transition between deep blue and light ice-blue, combined with the pure white base top, presents a clean and translucent texture when highlights illuminate the shoulders. The two pieces of blue thin tulle streamers on both shoulders were specially shaped so that whether sitting on a pillar during the shoot or making minor adjustments to my posture, they can maintain a natural draped curve rather than resting flat and completely limp against my arms.
Personally, I paid close attention to the design of the arm sleeves; the detached structure prevents the clothing from tugging at the arms during large movements, making it convenient to execute various extended body language. The studio in June was actually a bit stuffy and hot. Although this outfit looks light and ethereal, it requires quite a bit of patience to put on because it has several layers of undergarments and tulle overlapping inside. For the makeup, I didn't use overly heavy eyeshadow this time, but instead emphasized the blue-grey colored contacts and the natural highlights on the face, making the overall expression look brighter and more spirited.
Regarding the photographic composition, a clean, solid light gray background was intentionally chosen, and even the shadows on the ground were handled with great restraint, aiming to concentrate all visual focus on the color pairing of the character styling itself. The angles of the sitting pose were also tried repeatedly several times; it needed to showcase that sense of lightness while preventing over-stretching the long legs, which would cause the body proportions to become unbalanced. The final photo effect fits the character's inherent quiet yet clever temperament quite well.
Overall, whether it was the coordination of details in costume, makeup, and props, or the correction of skin tone texture by the lighting angle, this studio shoot achieved a highly ideal presentation. It not only showcases the character's innate agility but also retains my own understanding of this look. Doing anime cosplay in the summer indeed demands more energy, but seeing the finalized photos makes all the complicated preparations beforehand feel completely worth it.
