This time, I did the look for Zhen Ji's Peony Romantic skin from Honor of Kings. The first six photos were color-retouched by the model themselves on their phone, and in post-production, I adjusted another version on PC according to my own habits, putting them out for everyone to see the results. The weather was exceptionally nice on the day of the shoot; under the bright, harsh sunlight, the silver butterfly headpiece, pearl chains, and ruby forehead pendant on her head produced highly noticeable reflections. To prevent the highlights from stealing focus from the main subject of the face, the makeup was intentionally made matte, and the eye makeup was applied very restfully to maintain a clean, sharp contour. This ancient style anime-style photography look has many details: short black hair with blunt bangs paired with pink silk flowers on both sides, an off-the-shoulder design at the shoulders, and detached sleeves on the arms adorned with gold trim and pearls. The overall pink and white color palette feels very gentle against the backdrop of the wooden corridor. The model leaned on that old wooden chair without intentionally striking any rigid poses; her hand simply rested naturally on the armrest, her gaze lazily looking outside the frame. This relaxed vibe perfectly matches the gentle yet somewhat cool temperament of Zhen Ji in Peony Romantic. For the few shots by the water, the long pink skirt hem was spread over the gray rocks, with green plants and a pool in the background. The large aperture completely blurred out the tourists in the background, making the layers of the frame quite clean. When editing the photos, I mainly paid attention to three areas: first, the skin tone transition under harsh lightโ€”the highlight areas must retain authentic skin details instead of being a completely blown-out white; second, the pink on the clothes easily turns grayish or yellowish under strong light, requiring separate hue correction; third, using the ruby and red earrings as visual anchors, I subtly increased their saturation and brightness to make them pop within the light-toned visuals. Compared to Cosplay post-production, outdoor lighting is actually more challenging. Once the right camera position and angle are found, it's quite easy to bring out the layered feel of ancient and Chinese-style characters. This kind of styling is shot quite often, but every time we encounter such harsh lighting conditions, we still have to be exceptionally careful during post-processing.
