[Laurentina Cosplay] Arknights Abyssal Hunters Birthday Group Photo

On the occasion of Ms. Laurentina's birthday, I've finally finished retouching and releasing this Abyssal Hunters group photo set that we've had stored for a while.

The timeline from preparation to final photos was quite long. Our team has many members, so matching everyone's schedules was tough, and the props this time were exceptionally hardcore. Carrying giant circular saw blades, scythes, staves, and various polearms to the seaside location consumed most of our energy even before addressing shooting difficulty.

Weather played a little trick on us that day. Sunlight during daytime was harsh, with severe reflections off seawater and rocks. To avoid blown-out highlights, we climbed up and down the pebble-lined shore searching for angles; stepping on those rounded stones really hurt our feet. The core theme we aimed to express was a sense of blood-bound unity and team cohesion—whether in-game lore or reality, capturing that true bond in front of the lens was our goal. Wearing outfits centered on black, white, and blue, highlighted by striking red accents, standing between blue sky, white clouds, and deep blue water created stunning color contrast.

As dusk ushered in the deep blue hour and the sea darkened, our highlight segment arrived: lighting long white candles and vintage lanterns. Lighting fires by the sea was immensely challenging due to gusty winds extinguishing lighters instantly, forcing us to crowd into a ring to block the wind. Yet in that faint illumination, with everyone huddled together, the view through the viewfinder captured an intensely mysterious and solemn atmosphere.

Costume and prop details closely adhered to official settings—for example, scale markings and inscriptions on the circular saw blade were hand-painted piece by piece. From pointed hats and pin ornaments to masks and shoulder straps, every element underwent repeated verification. Wig texture played a crucial role too; silver-white long hair and blue hair illuminated by faint candlelight at night exhibited realistic frayed edges, suggesting traces of battle.

Beyond celebrating Ms. Laurentina's birthday, this photoshoot summarized our accumulated efforts. Gathering offline is rare in daily life, so having a spot with ocean breeze and water to wear meticulously prepared costumes and take commemorative photos was deeply therapeutic.

Lacking complex studio sets, this raw, rugged coastline added an authentic epic feel. During editing, I deliberated over preserving original light and shadow, ultimately making minor warm/cold adjustments to retain the dim ambiance of night candlelight, aiming to convey the unique aura belonging to the "Hunters."

The photographer's snapshots were superb, capturing interactive team moments—whether lighting the path with a lantern or lining up while holding saw blades—that restored character personalities and made the squad look formidable. After years of doing cosplay, I believe the hardest aspect to replicate isn't fabric texture or prop precision, but presenting character souls alongside like-minded companions. I hope this night shoot conveys that passion.
