[Komeiji Satori Cosplay] Convention Photos Interaction Record of the Komeiji Sisters

These AM03 convention photos feature the Komeiji sisters, completely capturing the distinct states of the two characters across three shots. Speaking of this shoot, what required the most effort was actually the connecting cables on the props. The yellow, blue, and purple cables extending from the red and blue spheres tangled easily when posing. Before shooting, we spent quite some time untangling these lines, aiming to highlight character traits while creating a natural sense of extension in the frame. Upon receiving the raw previews, we saw the photographer successfully captured this—the flow of the cables stretching across the aluminum foil mat, combined with ground reflections, nicely blurred out the slightly cluttered venue environment. In terms of outfit coordination, the light blue ruffled collar and white multi-layered lace dress correspond to the fresh look of the pink-haired character (Komeiji Satori cosplay), while the yellow top paired with a black wide-brimmed hat and ruffled skirt gives the green-haired character (Komeiji Koishi cosplay) a slightly more composed feel. During the event, many people were curious about the spheres and cables on us. In fact, these props not only added visual layering on site but also made it easier for us to get into character. From the front-facing pose in Photo 1 to the break in Photo 2, and then to the interaction in Photo 3, different moments brought different atmospheric vibes. The cool-toned background in Photo 3 was actually candidly snapped while we were adjusting our postures. That quiet, focused exchange of glances felt far more narrative than an intentionally staged pose. Every time I cosplay a Touhou Project character, I feel a special sense of belonging. Although the hall was crowded and the lighting messy, with makeup artist Mumu's help and photographer Lizho Xiaocheng's lens control, we quickly immersed ourselves in the setting. Especially during the sitting portion on the floor, to avoid getting our clothes dirty, we spread out a reflective tin foil mat, which accidentally turned into a great reflector, making facial lighting very soft. The moment in Photo 2 where I lowered my head to organize the cables was actually my genuine working state at the time—fully focused on untangling the props to prepare for the next round of shooting. Continuing to share details of this shoot, regarding photo selection, although Photo 1 is a standard character costume shot, I personally really like the relaxed feel of the latter two photos. Facing each other in Photo 3, that atmosphere didn't need to be forced; a slightly lowered head perfectly matched the character's personality. Moreover, the venue chosen this time, AM03 anime convention, had relatively dim lighting, putting the photographer's aperture and color temperature control to the test. Once the final photos came out, the darkened background allowed the high-saturation hair colors and props to pop out dramatically. Additionally, I'm quite satisfied with the photography results for the legs and feet, especially the texture of the black stockings and shoes on the right against the aluminum foil mat, where light and shadow were outlined just right. Overall, the black stockings we wore didn't produce severe glares despite the reflective floor material; instead, they appeared matte and smooth, enhancing the overall dark-toned layering. This set of convention photos records a very authentic and character-rich convention moment. Although cosplaying at conventions is physically demanding, seeing such warm and atmospheric finished photos makes everything completely worth it.
