[Komeiji Koishi cosplay] The Unconscious Girl's Daily Outfit in Touhou Project

Putting on this Komeiji Koishi cosplay costume, wearing the mint green wig and the black wide-brimmed hat, I stood in front of the door mirror to start today's log. When I was preparing this Cosplay outfit before, what I cared about most was the color-blocking effect of the pale yellow top paired with the dark green lace skirt, as well as that bright blue orb pendant on the chest. After putting it on, I found this color combination unexpectedly refreshing in front of the lens. The black lace trim and the ruffled collar bow tie neutralized the jumpiness of the bright colors, making the overall styling retro yet playful.

The wig is mint green with slight curls, trimmed into not-too-heavy layers, showing the curvature on both sides perfectly after putting on the hat. To match this hair color, the base makeup was specially chosen to lean toward a whiter shade, and the lipstick used a soft nude pink. The highlight of this shoot might be this matching Fumo plushie in my hand—its tiny hat, same-color hair, and skirt hem make it look like a miniature version of me. Taking a mirror selfie with it not only added fun but also made up for the problem where solo photos can easily look monotonous. The tubing for the blue orb pendant is soft, hanging down without hindering movement and swaying slightly when walking, which is an excellent decorative detail.

Characters in Touhou Project usually have a lot of costume details, and this combination of yellow, black, and green hides several layers of details. The black bowknot at the neckline is fixed extremely securely with a safety pin, so there's no need to worry about it tilting due to large movements during the selfie. The dark green fabric of the skirt hem was selected to have a bit of luster and texture, which can show the subtle dark pattern texture under the photography flash. The black lace stitched border at the edge of the hem also fits this character's temperament very well. Considering that this is a casual photo share, I didn't intentionally strike special poses, just naturally stood and looked at the lens in the mirror, trying my best to restore the character's native casual and lightweight feel.

When carrying the small plushie out the door, one needs to be careful not to let its hat and clothes get scuffed from the bag seam. After comparing several groups of photos, I found that the pose of holding the phone with both hands to cover the face is actually a very classic and practical composition. This angle not only makes the frame more focused on the clothing details but also makes it easier for people to associate it with the character's own mysterious impression.

Regarding participating in the 2D Vision Project, I feel that this relatively casual content can instead showcase the coser's understanding and true state of the character. No complex scenery is needed; just a wooden door, a mirror, and a relatively complete clothing match can bring out the character's atmosphere. During post-processing, I tried to preserve the original color tones as much as possible, simply adjusting the brightness and edge blur a bit to make the difference between the wood texture of the door panel and the fabric of the clothes look more natural. The cut of this outfit leans toward a loose fit, making it very convenient to move around. If I go to an anime convention later, I reckon I can develop even more interesting dynamic effects.

Every time I put on a favorite outfit, I can't help but take a few more mirror photos. Being able to complete this set of mirror selfies with the small toy in my hand this time counts as a highly satisfying attempt. If there are new accessories later, such as a more suitable small cane or backpack, I should be able to elevate the richness of this outfit by another level. As a Komeiji Koishi cosplay piece, detail restoration is the primary goal, followed by taking a good photo that makes me feel my state is just right. The texture of this skirt hem and the lace sewing of the top both made this wearing experience comfortable and memorable. When taking photos, holding the small plushie in hand and matching it with its hair color and skirt hem actually presented a very gentle fairytale feel under the warm yellow indoor lighting. Although it mainly recorded the overall effect of the outfit, wig, and accessories, completing this personal aesthetic expression still makes me very happy.
