These Convention photos from the expo floor have finally been retouched. First off, addressing the unspoken question: has anyone seen Ororon? That kid runs off somewhere every single day, so I simply made a cushion printed with his goofy meme expression and carried it around the entire day as his stand-in. This time, I cosplayed Citlali from Genshin Impact.
Regarding the outfit's fidelity, the top features a dark navy sleeveless high-neck design accented with pink-and-gold geometric chest adornments. To match the canon cut, the neck fits fairly snugly; slouching was out of the question, requiring an upright, poised posture before the lens at all times. The lower half consists of a deep navy high-slit maxi skirt patterned with blue-and-white geometric prints. The slit sits quite high, which gorgeously reveals leg contours while walking or posing. The footwear paired black strappy platform sandals; despite their high chunky soles, walking the convention floor all day was harsh on the soles of my feet, so I highly recommend anyone cosplaying this character pack plenty of blister bandages.
The wig features long pastel pink-to-purple gradient locks with thin accent braids woven along the sides. The two black circular ring ornaments on top required heavy-duty pinning, as strong indoor drafts could easily tilt them askew. For makeup, the azure contact lenses were the undeniable soul of the look, paired with soft pink eyeshadow dusted across the outer corners and cheeks. To reflect her composed, aloof demeanor, the base was kept fair and porcelain. The overall makeup was straightforward, with the true focus on controlling expressions: minimizing unnecessary grimaces, opting instead for a slight downward gaze or an impassive, distant stare into the lens.
The shoot took place inside an expansive convention center framed by gridded ceilings, glass curtain walls, and polished, reflective concrete floors. This cool-toned ambient light was a perfect match for the blue-and-white wardrobe, yielding pristine color rendition straight from the camera without heavy off-camera lighting. The photographer used a wide aperture to melt the background into smooth blur while keeping me centered holding the white cushion.
The posing was carefully calculated. The first shot featured clutching the cushion with both hands to partially obscure the torso in a reserved, demure stance; the second tucked the cushion under one arm while gesturing beside my cheek with a slight head tilt; the third reached one hand forward toward the lens as the skirt flared slightly with an forward lean. Because of the high slit, double-sided fashion tape secured the inner lining during crouches or wide gestures. The cushion was fairly bulky and easily masked the waistline, so cradling it from underneath was essential to keep the silhouette looking lean and defined.
Overall, this ensemble delivered a remarkably fresh visual aesthetic, and I met plenty of fellow travelers who recognized the character. The best part of Game cosplay is having fun: wearing the costume properly, taming the wig, and bringing the right props guarantees satisfying convention photos. Genshin Impact designs are packed with intricate accessories, so double-checking every small piece before stepping out ensures you deliver your best performance on camera.
