Shooting standing pose references for Komeiji Koishi was honestly so interesting! This outfit is packed with details—the dark green skirt hem features white thorn patterns, paired with layers of lace and ruffles, alongside a huge black wide-brimmed hat and blue roses, making it visually very eye-catching. Of course, the most iconic parts are that blue cord and the purple connected lines, as well as the prop knife in hand. To capture Koishi's temperament of drifting between existence and non-existence, I tried many variations in standing poses, from the front-facing sense of pressure holding the knife with both hands, to the relaxed feel of holding the knife in one hand while letting the other arm drop naturally, as well as the moments of turning sideways to look back and leaning forward slightly. Every angle was about finding that 'unconscious' lightness of hers. During the shoot, the white background of the venue beautifully brought out the dark green, black, and white colors cleanly, while the blue and purple of the props popped out without looking messy. I especially love the state where the knife point faces down or when it is held across the body, coexisting defense with casualness, because Koishi is actually a character who is very adept at hiding her sharp edges. Regarding the black platform shoes on the feet and the heart-shaped decorations, they also keep the overall styling stable yet fun. This time, I didn't deliberately strike overly complex postures, leaning instead toward a naturally flowing agility. Being able to record this Komeiji Koishi styling along with some action inspirations, I hope it serves as a little bit of a reference for fellow hobbyists who also want to shoot this character, because a huge part of her mystery genuinely comes from the relaxation and tension in her postures.
