[Shiroko Sunaookami Cosplay] Blue Archive, The Tranquil Moment in Summer Swimwear

Shooting this Summer swimwear look for "Shiroko Sunaookami" was indeed the concept I looked forward to the most in this summer project. In the story background of Blue Archive, the impression Shiroko leaves is always that of a character with a cool aura, overly strong action execution, and even slightly mysterious. When she takes off her usual tactical jacket and puts on a black, white, and blue color-blocked sporty competitive swimsuit, the vividness brought by this contrast is very strong, giving me a lot of room for performance.
Let's start with the costume and props. The tailoring of the swimsuit worn this time fits the body perfectly, and the material has moderate elasticity and slip resistance. The black and blue color-blocking has a great visual slimming effect. The iconic blue halo hair accessory on top of the head is specially customized and needs to be firmly attached to the wig. To prevent the halo from falling off during subsequent movements, the stylist used several ultra-fine invisible hairpins to secure it. Although the combined weight of the wig and the halo does put a slight burden on the head, when everything is ready and I see the complete look in front of the mirror, I feel all the trouble is completely worth it. The animal ears are handled very lightly, tied at the hair roots, trying to let the silver-gray hair naturally cover the connection points.
In terms of the set, this indoor studio is built with a great sense of slice-of-life realism. The wooden vertical slat background wall instantly reminds people of a seaside wooden cabin, the fine sand on the ground is spread very evenly, and several starfish are scattered thoughtfully as decorations. The edge of the small blue pool nearby is lined with white marble-textured tiles. In front, there are blue and white striped beach chairs and a surfboard, and the fishing nets and signboards hanging on the left wall perfectly enhance the relaxing seaside vibe. That huge transparent swimming ring is a difficult prop to control because the plastic material easily refracts severe light spots under lighting, causing the image to lose its texture. Therefore, during the actual shoot, the photographer and I repeatedly communicated about the lighting positions and used several large softboxes to weaken the highlights, trying our best to preserve the blue sequin details within its transparency, making the final photos look more crystal clear.
Regarding actions and expressions, considering Shiroko's very cool and straightforward personality, showing an overly sweet smile would ruin the character's charm. So in the first pose standing on one leg, I tried to imitate her unique sense of relaxation. Placing the body's center of gravity slightly on the supporting leg, slightly raising the other foot, casually holding the swimming ring with both hands, and staring blankly ahead, I perfectly expressed the lazy summer vibe of this sporty Anime girl. In the second photo, I leaned down, holding the swimming ring close to the pool, wanting to capture a dynamic moment, showing her as if she was ready to jump into the water at any time. The third close-up was the most interesting attempt. The photographer asked me to hide behind the swimming ring, framing a perfect circular composition, completely focusing the visual attention on the facial makeup and feature details. This composition not only adds depth to the image but also gives the viewer a sense of "face-to-face" presence with her.
As for the makeup, I intentionally deepened the slight red smudging around the eyes, which adds a touch of sharpness and emotion to her originally clear gaze. The base makeup is kept clean and translucent to match the refreshing feel of the Swimsuit cosplay theme. During the shooting process, stepping barefoot directly on the fine sand and the cold edge of the tiles—this realistic touch helped me immerse myself in the summer seaside scene much faster. Although this was an indoor studio shoot, as long as the props are arranged meticulously enough, combined with the photography team's precise control of light and shadow, that cool summer atmosphere can absolutely be recreated.
Every Cosplay is a journey of walking into the character's heart once again. This set of photos is not just a restoration of the costume, but more like freezing a quiet summer fragment for Shiroko Sunaookami in the noisy and energetic world of Blue Archive. I hope this work, through careful preparation and shooting, can bring everyone a refreshing visual experience.
