After being gently reminded by a staff member that eating is prohibited by the pool, I had to clarify that what I was holding was actually a handmade clay prop! While on my way to the convention, I happened to pass by a 100-yen store and impulsively bought a pack of clay, thinking it would add a fun little highlight to this Acosta Pool anime convention. Sculpting this popsicle was quite an amusing process; although it's a simple shape, achieving that distinct texture and frosty coloration of a real popsicle still required a touch of patience. That is precisely the joy of DIY crafting—watching crude clay transform into a deceptive, hyper-realistic prop right in your hands brings an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. Attending the annual pool anime convention genuinely feels like enduring an intense poolside 'bootcamp.' Wearing a swimsuit in the blazing heat while lugging around various props, running back and forth by the poolside, queuing, and taking photos left my legs feeling entirely detached by the end of the day, yet my heart felt wonderfully fulfilled and happy. This Fate/Grand Order Salter Swimsuit cosplay, paired with the popsicle prop I made myself, completely maxed out the immersive summer vibe. Even if my expression might have strayed slightly out of character, this relaxed and carefree state is where true happiness lies. Photographers and attendees at the venue loved the clay popsicle, enthusiastically praising how impressive it was to make something like that by hand. The entire venue was packed with cosplayers in swimwear; with sunlight, splashing water, and sweat intertwining, it embodies the unique, irresistible charm of a summer convention. I used to think prop-making had an intimidatingly high barrier to entry, but after this attempt, I realized that as long as you're willing to try, materials are everywhere, and you can craft a truly one-of-a-kind convention experience. Whenever I look back at these photos, I'm instantly reminded of that scorching yet laughter-filled summer afternoon—that pure joy of playing around with everyone is an experience that no polished, flawless studio work can ever replace. I'm thrilled that alongside all the fun, I also gained a fresh appreciation for handmade crafting, and this unforgettable journey brought a perfect, radiant close to my summer.
