The night shoot at the World Line Anime Exhibition has finally wrapped up! Slipping into this outfit made me feel instantly relaxed. This time, I cosplayed as Takanashi Hoshino (Takanashi Hoshino cosplay) from Blue Archive. Because her character design has a strong at-home, relaxed vibe, I didn't go for anything overly intricate with the wardrobe, simply tossing on an oversized white hoodie. The off-the-shoulder neckline slipping down on one side really captured that effortless, laid-back casualness.
I styled the wig myself; while long pink hair is already eye-catching, adding a pair of cat-ear accessories dialed the sweetness up to eleven in this Pink-themed cosplay. The prop pink halo above my head was secured to the crown using clear fishing line, requiring constant attention to angles during the shoot so the line wouldn't catch glare before the camera. The white collar around my neck had a tiny bell, jingling softly with every step. The foot traffic during the convention's night session was quite dense, so to keep the background clean in the photos, we scouted a quieter corner and laid down a white plush rug.
For the lower half styling, the pink shorts featured cat paw prints along the sides, echoing the motifs on the hoodie. I especially want to highlight the experience of wearing over-the-knee White stockings: walking all day around the expo easily makes legs swell, so I picked semi-sheer over-the-knee stockings with good elasticity and mild compression. They not only flatter the leg contours visually, but also present a gorgeous texture under nighttime flashes. Although the outdoor breeze at night was a bit chilly, the roomy hoodie combined with the stockings kept the temperature just right.
For posing, I drew inspiration from Hoshino's spoiled, affectionate personality. While kneeling on the rug, resting clenched fists over the chest or mimicking cat paws beside my face paired with blue colored contacts perfectly conveyed an innocent yet playful charm. In one shot, I stood up and flashed a peace sign—a pose intended to break the monotony of continuous kneeling, stretching out my posture while showcasing the full-body outfit proportions more dynamically.
The lighting conditions during the expo's night session were definitely challenging. While the background blue LED screens and red lanterns looked stunning, without frontal fill light, facial features would have been cast in heavy darkness. This time, the photographer utilized a flash, effectively knocking down the background exposure while bringing the subject into crisp focus. Although the session was tiring, seeing the final photos made me realize this pink ensemble truly holds a unique, captivating contrast aesthetic against the night.
