[Kurohime cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: The Tail End of Spring Blossoms

Takanashi no Kurohime, here I come! The schedule for this shoot was very tight, but fortunately, we caught the tail end of the spring cherry blossoms. The fallen cherry petals carpeted the ground like a thick rug, with white petals intertwining with green grass for a clean look. To complement this dark-toned outfit, I specifically chose a cherry blossom outdoor scene beneath the trees.

The hair was a bit of a sore point this time—it was styled quite casually and looked slightly messy, so please bear with it for now. I didn't want it to look too rigid, preferring a naturally scattered feel. To achieve waist-length hair, this straight long wig took quite a bit of effort: spraying it with setting mist and combing it through multiple times. Having the long hair sweep the ground definitely created great visual tension.

Regarding the costume and makeup styling: this time I wore a sailor suit style black skirt with white stripes, paired with knee-high black stockings. Since taking full-body photos was the main focus, I chose a standing composition under the tree to fully showcase the leg lines. During the shoot, I realized the camera's built-in beauty algorithm was too aggressive, automatically erasing the scar on my face. Only after checking the raw photos did I notice that such flawless skin doesn't fit the character's persona. Therefore, during post-editing, I will heavily edit the scar back on, hoping to faithfully restore the character's cool and alluring demeanor.

A few minor hiccups occurred during shooting. Photos 3 and 4 show the photographer holding up the camera to show me the screen; the screen glare was severe and looked pitch black, not particularly flattering, but it represents the authentic reality behind the outtakes. Sometimes checking these dark screen previews helps determine angle adjustments for subsequent shots. The prop sword I brought was really heavy, making my arms ache after holding it for a while, but I powered through to strike cool poses. Running back and forth on the grass resulted in several mosquito bites and pants covered in burrs and grass seeds.

During the shoot, I also specifically asked the photographer to stop down the aperture slightly so that the distant cherry blossoms were gently blurred while keeping the character in sharp focus. The long straight black hair fluttering in the wind was tricky to capture, yet we managed to get several truly atmospheric shots. Given the rush, we couldn't find a more elaborate setting, but the tail end of spring cherry blossoms has a charm of its own. I already have a clear vision for post-processing: darkening the casual daylight tones to amplify a mysterious and slightly edgy, aggressive presence. This cool-toned adjustment will better fit the character design.

Regardless, successfully finishing the shoot in this costume and capturing moments in the camera screen reflections is a unique memory in itself. This shoot was rushed before the season ended, and due to physical stamina and location constraints, many ideas couldn't be realized to their fullest, which leaves a slight regret. If given the opportunity in the future, I hope to shoot this character again. That's all for this sharing, please look forward to the final retouched photos!
