Preparations for this shoot centered around imagining Nyamu within an Arknights world. To embody the passionate magician theme, numerous adjustments were made across the wardrobe, props, and makeup. The wig was selected in short silver-purple locks, with the fringe and sideburns carefully trimmed; locking down its shape proved more meticulous than expected. The Animal ears atop the crown featured soft white plush tufts, paired with a black miniature top hat accented by a red hatband, retaining Nyamu's iconic BanG Dream! charm while injecting a magician's theatrical mystery.

For the wardrobe, the sleeveless black dress was layered beneath a thick black plush stole. While visually lavish, the stole easily slid off the shoulders during posing, demanding continuous readjustment to keep the silhouette clean before the lens. The golden pendant around the neck and the long black opera gloves served as focal accents. To give the camera richer dimensional contrast, the dress and gloves utilized materials with distinct reflective sheens, which paired with Black stockings to reveal nuanced textural depth under the studio strobes. The makeup deepened the eye contours with reddish-brown eyeshadow and vibrant lips, complementing the dark gothic aesthetic.

The sequence wielding the greatshield was a dual test of physical stamina and facial control. The massive black shield was handcrafted and carried considerable heft, detailed with white graffiti motifs and inlaid pink-and-white gemstones. Holding it with both hands while lunging forward in a combat stance was demanding; low-angle upward framing yielded dramatic impact, but required keeping my core tightly engaged at all times so my frame didn't appear bulky. Nailing the gaze was equally critical—it needed to project cool confidence without letting the heavy prop cause strained facial tension, sustaining an unyielding, powerful presence.

Switching to the conducting baton for the later sequence brought a lighter, more dynamic flair. Here, adjustments focused on hand gestures and torso twists, keeping the baton steady while elongating the arm lines. To capture that fleeting instant of spellcasting, I coordinated closely with the photographer on lighting angles; side rim backlights allowed the edges of the silver-purple hair to glow faintly. Framed by the crimson velvet drapes and black-and-white checkered floor, the scene established deep spatial perspective. Although the set featured classical instruments like a harp and cello, standing dead center could easily cause the subject to be overshadowed by the background. Thus, I relied on deliberate body language—lifting the chin or angling sideways—to anchor visual focus onto the character.

The entire shoot proceeded smoothly, thanks to the photographer's mastery of light and shadow. Post-production avoided excessive skin smoothing, preserving organic skin textures and three-dimensional makeup, while cool overall color grading created a bold contrast against the crimson backdrop. Translating 2D character designs into reality relies not merely on garments and props, but on channeling the concept through physical presence and piercing glances, and I am genuinely pleased with how this creative exploration turned out.
