[Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) cosplay] Alternative Dark Style JK Outfit in Fate/Grand Order

I was very satisfied with the completion level of this Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) JK look, with the shoot primarily revolving around a dark gothic style. Outfit-wise, the black sailor uniform with white trim paired with a bright red necktie perfectly restored the classic color palette of Jeanne Alter's original design, exuding a sense of youthful rebellion within darkness. For makeup and styling, I wore light-green contact lenses paired with bold red lips, focusing on a cold, aloof gaze and porcelain skin. The wig was a short silver-white cut with an ahoge on top; the glossy black horned headpiece on the forehead was the soul of this look, offering great texture, though it had to be secured tightly—I worried about it slipping several times during the shoot. Two sets of props were prepared this time: a skull and a red spider lily prop. These props aligned seamlessly with the dark aesthetic; the skull had a convincing texture yet was lightweight thanks to its foam material. The front-facing shot cradling the skull is my absolute favorite—the composition is rich, and the direct, piercing gaze into the lens fully reveals a dangerous, chilling demeanor. The shot glancing back with the spider lily conveys a distinct mood, imbued with a hint of despair and romance. During the shoot, to match this cold atmosphere, a pale pink backdrop was selected, and we put effort into lighting: the key light was relatively hard to accentuate facial contours and wig strands, complemented by a rim light on the back. In post-processing, skin tones were brightened, saturation was boosted on the red tie and lips, and the black uniform was deepened to intensify the overall contrast. Finding angles that best showcased posture and silhouette took substantial coordination with the photographer. Since the overall tone was cold and brooding, expression management required no smiles, prioritizing a piercing gaze instead. No stockings were worn for this styling to highlight a dark, rebellious, casual vibe; the moderate skirt length paired with short sleeves created an eerie, alluring contrast. Overall, this derivative take on Jeanne Alter from Fate/Grand Order went very smoothly. By incorporating a Sailor uniform cosplay concept, reducing the armor aesthetic of the original design, and infusing dark style cosplay elements, this iconic character gained a refreshing visual presentation. Although prep took plenty of work—such as spending considerable time adjusting the wig—seeing the final output made every bit worth it. As a final friendly note, the spider lily drops petals easily, so cleaning up all the red petals on the floor after wrapping took quite a bit of effort.
