[Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: The Quiet and Elegant Holy Maiden of Vengeance

This shoot features the Final Ascension look of Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) cosplay from Fate/Grand Order. Preparing the costume and props from scratch to the final shoot took quite a long time. To faithfully restore that sense of black-and-red intertwined destiny from Fate, we did extensive research on fabric selection. When I received the wig, the silver-white hair was extremely long and required meticulous care. During the shoot, we deliberately avoided overly oppressive dark tones, choosing clean and soft lighting instead to soften her usually arrogant and fierce demeanor, presenting a quiet melancholy and calm after putting aside her sharp edge in this Silver hair cosplay.

This Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) look features numerous costume details. The glossy black patent leather reflects beautiful highlights under soft light, though it is quite stuffy to wear—especially the plush-trimmed leg guards and long gloves, which had me sweating soon after stepping into the studio. The headpiece has an irregular glossy finish that required careful placement to avoid obstructing my line of sight. The prop sword is fairly heavy, featuring a striking magenta stripe down the center of the blade, complemented by a pink sphere accent at the pommel that catches the eye against the dark outfit. Holding the long sword horizontally with one hand required balancing both angle and texture, and we adjusted my arm muscle tension and facial expressions multiple times.

While interpreting this character, I tried my best to remain calm and collected. Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) possesses the majesty of the Dragon Witch, yet deep down hides a profound sense of solitude and brokenness from the past. I wanted her presence before the camera to convey not just anger and defiance, but a quiet, standing pride. Even though the gear was heavy and the long wig was prone to flyaways, the photographer and I repeatedly adjusted camera angles to capture the garment folds and accessory textures with high fidelity.

We opted for an indoor studio set, where dark red drapes and withered branches matched the character's narrative ambiance, while cool-toned lighting against the silver hair and patent leather brought out striking textures in this Cosplay photoshoot. The shoot lasted around three hours; apart from slight arm fatigue from lifting the sword, everything went smoothly. Reviewing the raw photos after the session, I could truly feel that gentle yet powerful, melancholy yet noble aura. As a cosplayer, being able to connect with a character this closely and showcase her unique charm on camera brings immense fulfillment. Behind every image lies the collaborative effort of the costume, prop, and photography team, and I am deeply grateful for everyone's hard work.
