[Cirno cosplay] Touhou Project Snow Outdoor Photoshoot Sharing

For this Touhou Project Cirno cosplay, the snowy setting was the most crucial factor during early planning. We arranged for Outdoor photography in advance and scouted this heavily snow-covered location. While the bright blue dress popped brilliantly against the snow, managing the exposure proved quite challenging. In terms of costume details, highly accurate custom accessories were prepared, including translucent snowflake wings and a signature red bow at the chest. The lace trims and pom-poms on the hem added rich volume. The combination of white tights and blue boots in this White tights cosplay looked striking, but walking through the wet, freezing snow was bitterly cold. We adjusted our footing multiple times, relying entirely on heat packs to stay warm for the sake of the overall aesthetic. For styling, the wig featured a light blue gradient paired with snowflake hairpins and translucent colored contacts. The makeup was kept subtle, blending pale pink and light blue eyeshadows to retain a clear, transparent finish that kept the skin looking pristine under strong snow glare. To ensure the wings looked right, we used rigid transparent PVC with laser-engraved snowflake textures, achieving an ice-crystal glow under backlighting. The saturation of the red bow tie was adjusted repeatedly to make it pop against the blue-and-white tones. The sunlight was excellent on the day of the shoot, with the reflective snow providing rich facial lighting layers. Since the snow acted as a natural but harsh reflector, we applied gentle fill light with a reflector board to soften facial shadows. Later, we explored wide shots using snowy slopes and bare branches as narrative backdrops. Interactive poses like cupping snowballs and running into the distance highlighted the character's playful liveliness. The pose on the railing was quite precarious, taking considerable time to balance across overhead, eye-level, and low angles. Post-processing focused on tonal balance to emphasize a cool, crisp freshness, using the red bow and boot accents as visual anchors. To maintain realism, we avoided excessive slimming, focusing primarily on color temperature to create a chilly, ethereal texture while preserving snow surface details. The biggest challenge was the blinding snow causing highlight clipping, which photographer @七奈Nanako handled skillfully with a polarizing filter. As a veteran Touhou cosplayer, this Snow scene cosplay version of Cirno was a refreshing venture. Leaving the studio allowed natural light to add a crisp, wintry edge. Poses like scooping snow and pointing into the distance brought out the mischievous fairy's energetic innocence, making this a truly rewarding snowy outdoor shoot.
