[Firefly Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Convention Snapshots & Share

When I first received this costume, I was most touched by the gradient treatment on the skirt. The natural blend from pure white to sky blue, combined with layered white ruffled borders, creates a visually airy feel. To stay close to the setting, I specifically selected a long silver-white wig with light blue and pale green highlights, paired with slightly fluffy braided details. The forehead piece—with its dark brown main tone and metallic trimmed edge—is crucial, as it helps direct the visual focal point and makes the facial features and eye makeup stand out clearly.

For translucent makeup, I chose a matte foundation for the base while retaining proper highlights in key areas. The contact lenses are purplish-red, which, paired with soft pink eyeshadow and slightly upturned eyeliner, aim to express the character's cold yet determined feel. However, accurately capturing these colors under complex convention lighting was indeed challenging, placing high demands on the photographer's on-site lighting skills during convention photography.

The core design of this dress lies in its off-the-shoulder elements. During shooting, it beautifully showcases the lines of the collarbone and shoulders. The detachable cuffs feature light blue floral lace and inner ruffled trim, allowing the fabric to sway naturally during larger movements. The dark brown bow tie at the neckline adds a visual anchor to the overall light-colored dress, keeping the image from looking overly washed out. Meanwhile, the transparent butterfly decorations scattered across the skirt and the long green and orange-pink ribbons dangling at the waist serve as vibrant color accents in the frame. Walking around the venue in this outfit, the rhythm of my steps swayed the ribbons and tulle skirt, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

The location chosen for this shoot was a standard anime convention venue. I selected the third photo as the cover because, from a slightly turned angle with my right hand folded naturally in front and eyes looking straight ahead, it showcases both the side tailoring of the skirt and the combination of off-the-shoulder design with white thigh-high socks in a white tights cosplay style. The overall composition is very balanced without distracting elements. The low-angle shot in the first photo maximizes the fluffiness and spatial depth of the skirt, where looking back over my shoulder under the ceiling spotlights creates a very three-dimensional appearance. The second photo leans toward emotional expression—a subtle downward turn of the head with eyes closed, paired with fingers touching the cheek, evoking a softer feel.

The lighting at the convention venue was indeed a challenge. Although there were high ceiling lights, ambient glare from surrounding crowds and booth signs affected the light uniformity on the face. Fortunately, the photographer made excellent use of shallow depth of field to blur the background heavily, completely separating the subject from the dense convention environment, making the images look very clean. Although we had to weave through crowds to find shooting angles, the final result makes it all worthwhile.

In truth, every time I cosplay such a high-profile character, I feel a bit nervous inside. The craftsmanship of costumes, makeup, and props keeps improving, and everyone's standards are constantly rising. Therefore, every detail—from wig coloring and styling to the flare and smoothness of the skirt—took a lot of time to adjust. I'm very grateful for the photographer's attentive captures, preserving Firefly's quiet, slightly vulnerable, yet resolute demeanor through the lens. Although there were a few minor regrets along the way, overall, fully immersing myself in recreating this character in such a vibrant anime environment was a deeply joyful experience. This record serves as a satisfactory milestone response to my preparations over this period.
