From the moment I decided on this Queen Bee cosplay character from Identity V, I was thinking about how to present her unique temperament. The focus of this styling lies in recreating that icy and detached atmosphere. For the eye makeup, I used deep blue and silver glitter to echo the character's blue eyes, keeping it as clean and sharp as possible, with rhinestones on the lower eyelid embellishing like teardrops, which perfectly fit the melancholic feel. Styling the white curly wig took a lot of effort; to achieve a voluminous yet neat layered texture, combing and shaping alone took nearly an hour. Paired with the pearl hair accessories on top of her head, the overall look presents this classical and mysterious quality.
In terms of clothing and prop details, the layers of pearl necklaces around the neck are quite heavy, and their positions had to be adjusted very carefully during wearing to avoid covering the lines of the neck. The white feather-shaped blade in my hand was also carefully selected, needing to look sharp while fitting the overall silver-white tone so as not to appear too jarring. During the shoot, a dark studio environment was intentionally chosen, with the light source placed on the rear side. Utilizing the backlight, a translucent halo was cast on the white hair, making the edges of the silver hair strands shimmer. The dark background wrapped the subject's silhouette beautifully, retaining some film grain and subtle lens flare while toning down excessive skin smoothing, hoping the final presentation would be a frozen frame with a cinematic storytelling feel.
I didn't intentionally pursue a sense of aggression or offensiveness in the visuals, but instead focused on magnifying that cool, aloof, and calm state of Queen Bee. This state requires the cooperation of expressions and details; the direction of the gaze and the tilt angle of the prop when facing the camera must all help establish the character. Through this practice, my understanding of this series of characters in Identity V has deepened a bit. The combination of elements like silver hair, pearls, and wings in this Anime cosplay is actually a true test of makeup, styling, and lighting coordination. I hope this final set of photos can showcase Queen Bee's subtle yet unique aura.
