For this December White studio photography session, I completed this Rem cosplay photo set. Preparing for over a month, the wig was a newly trimmed light blue short wig; the curve of the bangs truly tested styling techniques, paired with the signature floral headband and red ribbon. In terms of makeup to match the character, the key was clear blue colored contacts, clean eye makeup, and soft pink blush, combined with pink lip tint, allowing facial contours to remain three-dimensional even under bright studio lighting. As for the costume, I chose this classic black-and-white Maid outfit cosplay; the inner lining features multiple layers of ruffles, while the outer skirt is a black apron with white trim and a long purple ribbon on the left. The white bodice on the upper body has a black corset design, adorned with numerous bow accents. Wearing such a voluminous dress and posing while lifting the skirt showcased the ruffles' volume and tiered layering beautifully, and paired with White tights cosplay and high heels, visual leg lines were elongated significantly.
Considering the cold December weather, but with plenty of indoor studio lighting, good warming measures were taken beforehand to ensure shooting quality, wearing only a thin base layer during the shoot. Posing and expression control were central during shooting: for instance, the first side-profile photo holding a tray appeared gentle and calm, ideal for displaying quiet side contours, while the second front-facing photo lifting the skirt showcased not only the symmetrical elegance of the costume but also full-body curves—including the visual presentation of the bust and legs—through a slight head tilt and skirt lifting. Because the white studio backdrop is pure and light can easily overexpose, light positioning in the studio was critical. The photographer focused on capturing clean light and shadows in the White studio photography setting; the black-and-white palette looked pristine against the white cyclorama, giving the overall composition rich texture.
In post-processing, authentic skin texture was preserved while focusing on skirt folds and the luster of the stockings, allowing 2D images to convey three-dimensional costume details. As a cosplayer, every photoshoot requires adapting one's stance to studio lighting; a white studio is bright, requiring exposure control to prevent white garments from blending into the white background. Many amusing episodes occurred during the shoot, such as stepping on the long hem or stray hairs blocking my eyes, but fortunately the final photos turned out deeply satisfying. The focus of this shoot was bringing out the character's innate aura—cool elegance infused with girlish charm. Both frontal and profile angles achieved wonderful shadow transitions in the white studio. When selecting cover photos during post-processing, comparing all captured angles, the front-facing skirt-lifting photo best suited aesthetic standards, maximizing costume layers and curvaceous silhouette beauty, so it was chosen as the cover.
