This shoot's theme revolves around a supermarket's back door scene at night, integrating a slightly casual yet high-contrast atmosphere into the overall look. Starting with the hair and makeup, red hair is incredibly bright under the convenience store lights at night. I chose a high-saturation red wig, which, when paired with pale skin and red contact lenses, provided a perfect foundation for a cool, lazy gaze. To enhance the details, I wore a black leather collar around the neck, paired with long, dangling gold earrings. The combination of metal and leather textures elevated the sharpness of the overall look.
For the outfit, I didn't go for overly complex designs. The inner wear is a simple white waist-defining dress outlined with a black belt, topped with a black motorcycle leather jacket featuring zipper details. Since I wanted to capture full-body sitting shots, I paired the lower half with black tights and white ankle boots. The classic color scheme of black, white, and red is highly distinct in the frame. The rugged feel of the leather jacket balances beautifully with the white inner dress, avoiding an overly aggressive look while maintaining a cool, sharp visual.
We also prepared some everyday props to enhance the narrative feel of the photos. For example, the gold-filtered cigarette I'm holding is just a prop for the shoot, and the various cigarette boxes stepped on or scattered on the ground were all meant to match the realistic setting of \"smoking at the supermarket back door.\" Other props included a roll of blue tape and a utility knife, which carry a slightly rebellious or casual vibe. Combined with the interactive gesture of reaching toward the camera in Image 3 and the cigarette-in-mouth expression in Image 1, each photo captures a distinct mood. The cardboard boxes printed with beverage brands served as a natural seat while seamlessly blending into the convenience store background.
For the location, we selected the back door of a convenience store at night, where the indoor light filtering through served as a very soft main light source, beautifully illuminating my facial contours. Some of the darker ambient areas were filled in with a flash to capture fine details. Night light is naturally suited for this kind of mysterious and narrative-driven portrait creation, where there's no need to force exquisitely crafted studio lighting; instead, we preserved a texture that feels closer to an everyday perspective.
The composition of this entire set experiments with a mix of half-body, full-body, and close-up shots, allowing everyone to see the various details of this look and outfit from multiple dimensions. In terms of posing, whether it's the cool gaze holding a cigarette, the relaxed sitting posture, or the final gesture of reaching out to interact with the lens, everything was kept as natural and unforced as possible. This was a wonderful attempt at integrating my favorite fashion style into an everyday scene; shooting like this on the street or in front of a supermarket gives the frame much more vitality than a plain studio setup. Lastly, I must mention that all items used during the shoot were props; smoking in real life is harmful to your health, so please take care of your body and keep the environment clean.
