[Liberalio Cosplay] Being a Quiet Purple Jellyfish in the World of Goddess of Victory: Nikke

This time I cosplayed Liberalio from Goddess of Victory: Nikke, also known to players as 'Jellyfish.' The overall look mainly features taro purple gradient long hair, red eyes, and gothic black lace elements, aiming for a languid atmosphere. Regarding makeup and hair, I put a lot of thought into capturing the layered look of the wig's bangs to avoid looking heavy or rigid, while retaining the natural drape of the hair ends. For eye makeup, I chose large-diameter red colored contacts paired with full-wrap black eyeliner and detailed lower lashes to focus the gaze under close-ups. I adjusted the position and blending area of the under-eye blush multiple times, as it needs to be slightly high to naturally bring out the character's detached, slightly tipsy demeanor. For lips, I used a moisturizing, low-saturation red-brown lipstick to soften the overall makeup texture.

The outfit chosen this time combines black lace, ruffles, and semi-sheer mesh materials. The upper body features extensive cutout tailoring and a high-neck lace choker design. I needed to adjust for non-slip fit before wearing, and to avoid a visually thin look from the lightweight material, I added simple anti-exposure lining inside. The black choker, ruffled trim, and lace texture on the sleeves create a good color contrast with the purple hair, preventing the makeup from looking too dull in the frame.

Speaking of forgetting the bows mentioned in the post, that 'idiot' was indeed myself. I had prepared the black bow hair accessories for both sides of the head in advance, but in the rush to check the wig and contact lenses before leaving, I left the most important accessories at home. After discovering it at the shooting location, I could only make temporary replacements with black ribbons. Although they lacked the three-dimensional jellyfish-skin leather texture of the original, they managed to prop up the overall silhouette. This little episode reminded me of the importance of listing checklists before going on location in the future.

The shooting process was basically conducted under soft indoor natural light, without using excessive highlights or shadow contrasts. This diffuse soft light better brings out the character's own quiet qualities. I chose a side profile, slightly low angle, with my hand naturally supporting my chin, using body language to strengthen that sense of relaxation and detachment. Actually, when looking at the character setting, I think the term 'Jellyfish' itself carries a subtle tranquility and contrast, so during the shoot, I didn't deliberately manage expressions but went with a zoned-out state to fit the character.

For a cosplayer, the completion of each set of photos is an expression of character understanding. This time, even with missing iconic accessories, I restored the character's traits as much as possible based on existing conditions, considering everything from the highlight brightening of the base makeup to the combing of the wig's fluffiness, and the adjustment of the outfit's fit. The coordination between makeup and wig, combined with that naturally composed languid vibe in demeanor, ultimately made the effect of the whole work exceed expectations. This look displays both my control over character details and retains the most authentic natural state during casual shooting, which is exactly the most charming part of cosplay itself.
