Lately, I've been busy with various cosplay miscellany. Beyond the finished sets I posted previously, I've actually stockpiled a bunch of shoot concepts to tackle gradually. Even though I constantly complain about having few days off as a working-class adult, looking at the styling and wigs in my gallery that took so much effort makes me want to sketch out my wishlist first, lest my terrible memory lets them slip away.
Regarding these outfits in the photos, pairing different hair colors with different elements took a lot of thought during prep. Doing the wig styling, custom elf ears, and intricate garment accessories gave me a real sense of accomplishment. But when it comes to post-processing, I honestly have to confess—I'm basically a warrior of face-tuning. Comparing the raw photos with the final edits shows how much I rely on skin smoothing and lighting tweaks. There's nothing to hide about heavy editing; it's common practice in the scene, and at least my edits aren't jarring, keeping the physical textures intact without completely flattening bone structures.
My personal favorite is the blue hair paired with black lace, specifically styled with black tights and a black feather headpiece—the overall vibe leans punk yet elegant, with very striking garment silhouettes. For the white hair with red horns styling, I also experimented with fantasy elements, spending plenty of time crafting props and styling the wig. Doing Suzhou cosplay is actually quite comfortable; between classical gardens, alleys, and modern architecture, there's a wide variety of scenes, though days off are truly a luxury for an office worker. Finding a compatible local Suzhou photographer often comes down to luck and conflicting schedules.
In fact, I have plenty of new ideas bubbling in my mind, such as trying pure black themes, silver accessory gear, or Chinese traditional-inspired hairpieces. However, materials for these are hard to source and mostly require handmade crafting, so for now, I can only queue them into my long plan list until the wigs and fabrics arrive.
Beyond what's shown here, I have more projects in preparation, but with wigs still shipping and props being crafted slowly, I have to take it step by step. After all, despite being drained by work, seeing the final results after each set makes all the effort feel worthwhile. Even if I joke about only updating once a year, I take every shoot and edit very seriously. Whether it's a three-hour outdoor location or an entire day sitting at the computer for post-production, I strive to meet my standard of quality on every detail.
