For this look of Sparkle from "Honkai: Star Rail", we specifically chose a studio set featuring a red bridge under a full moon and cherry blossoms. On-screen model thanks to @钉宫草莓, venue thanks to the meticulous setup by @雪华摄影工作室. The overall visual tone centers around dark night aesthetics combined with vibrant red-and-white color clashes, aiming to recreate the mysterious yet lively aura the character brings in her PV.
In terms of outfit preparation, this red-black-and-white spliced modified Japanese-style garment carries an abundance of details. The off-the-shoulder design showcases neck and shoulder lines, paired with a black leather collar and golden bells that look exceptionally textured under soft studio lights. The embroidered red-and-white hexagonal badge on the cuffs, along with coarse hemp rope knots and red tassel decorations around the waist, are all crucial elements for character accuracy. To match this Japanese aesthetic, Japanese-style high-heeled geta wooden sandals in red and black were specifically paired; though somewhat tiring to walk in, everything was entirely worth it for the completeness of the final visual effect.
The wig and makeup underwent multiple adjustments as well. High twin-tails with straight blunt bangs, paired with a red-and-white fox mask and red hair bow, form an instantly recognizable appearance signature. To enhance character texture, we used a pair of red contact lenses and drew two delicate red tear marks under the eyes, which, combined with a rosy lip color, made my entire gaze look sharper and imbued with a touch of slyness. Hair strands needed smooth combing to ensure the draped flow wasn't compromised even amid multi-layered set pieces.
The environmental setup for this Night view studio shoot offered great depth. A vermilion wooden hallway bridge served as the primary base, flanked by dense layers of artificial pink-and-white cherry blossoms, complemented by bright yellow square lanterns and oil-paper umbrellas in corners, building a thoroughly immersive Japanese-style night scene. The huge glowing round moon in the background and the white oil-paper umbrella featured in the photos perfectly enhanced the character's mysterious demeanor. During shooting, I needed to adjust my center of gravity to cooperate with these intricate props—sometimes half-leaning against red railings, sometimes tilting my body to open the umbrella—posing quite a test for physical control.
I'd particularly love to share Photo 2, which we selected as the cover. Sitting on the edge of the bridge floor with legs naturally crossed and extended, side fill-light hit my face, clearly sculpting facial contours while establishing a great color balance between the red-and-white attire and black open-toed geta sandals. The white hanging lantern formed an excellent contrast behind me, rendering a very full composition with the visual center of gravity landing right in the middle area. To capture this natural, lazy yet commanding presence, we tried several angles on site before finally snapping this moment.
When getting in touch with this character, simply looking at her concept art reveals her cynical and deep-seated nature. In static photos, we tried not to over-rely on exaggerated movements, but rather conveyed her demeanor through direct eye contact and subtle hand gestures (such as gently tugging the mask edge or holding the red umbrella handle). Sparkle's charm lies in that contrast of slyness mixed with a touch of sincerity, a trait captured appropriately through micro-expressions in photo compositions. The prop design of the Japanese red bridge paired with red bows and the fox mask formed a unique visual attraction.

Though a studio shoot, the rich array of props and overall detail management accelerated my pace in stepping into character.
